Order of the Forge[edit]

Monk Subclass

Design Note: Only Dwarfs can become Order of the Forge monks, since this represents a part of dwarven culture and religiosity. Your DM can lift this description to fit your campaign.

Monks of the Order of the Forge seek to honor Moradin and the other dwarven gods by honing their bodies while working the forges in their dwarven halls. Formed long ago by a group of smith's seeking to help their fellows who were struck by the crafting fever that all dwarves get. The group petitioned Moradin, not through prayer, but meditation. Moradin blessed them, by making them craftsman beyond normal. By making weapons and armor for their clansmen, they forge their bodies into living weapons. They channel their ki to mimic the heat of the forge they work and the durability of the metal they craft. They are branded on both shoulders and their inner forearms with the symbols of the dwarven gods. These symbols glow whenever they channel their ki.

When you choose this tradition, you gain proficiency with smith's tools if you do not already have it. You also may double your proficiency bonus when making a History check involving metalworking you are considered proficient with History when making this check.

Fists of the Forge and Body of Iron

If you are wearing any magical item that grants a similar bonus (such as a pair of Bracers of Defense or a Ring of Protection), you don't add both bonuses, only adding the highest.

In addition when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can deal fire damage rather then bludgeoning.

Heart of the Forge and Body of Steel
