Oath of Knowledge (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Editor's Note
This class should be used from level one, its got a fair few changes so I'd like any feedback on balance. The idea here was to make a paladin that focuses on gathering and applying knowledge for a Library/Temple/Laboratory. Also I've never made a wiki page before so formatting help would also be grand because I just stole the formatting from another page.
Oath of Knowledge[edit]
You must choose to use this Oath from level one rather than at level three. The following changes to your character apply to your character instead of the normal paladin abilities.
Saving Throws: Wisdom, Intelligence.
Skills: Arcana, History, Medicine, Insight, Religion, Investigation.
Spellcasting: Use your intelligence for spellcasting rather than Charisma.
Divine Sense: This ability now affects Fey, Elementals and Aberrations instead, and uses your intelligence modifier rather than your charisma modifier.
Damage Types: Wherever you would deal radiant damage, you deal force damage instead.
Tenets of Knowledge[edit]
Seek Knowledge Harbour all new information for the temple.
Be Curious Never pass up opportunities to explore the unknown and make your own findings.
Defend the Archivists Under no circumstances allow knowledge or those with it to come under harm.
Apply Findings Take every opportunity to show the benefits of the knowledge gained.

Paladin Level | Spells |
---|---|

Channel Divinity[edit]
At 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Knowledge is Power. For the next minute, you add to your attack rolls and your damage rolls an amount equal to your highest spell slot level or your Proficiency Modifier.
Expose the Outsider. Each Fey, Elemental or Aberration within 30ft must take a wisdom saving throw. Failure will result in the paladin knowing the information about the affected creatures. This includes all information regarding combat, not information regarding the individual. The paladin will gain advantage to hit creatures who fail this save, This effect lasts one minute.
Aura of Denial[edit]
Starting at 7th level you and allies within 10ft have spell resistance.
At 18th level, the range of this effect increases to 30 feet.
Gather Power[edit]
Starting at 15th level whenever you see a spell cast, you may roll a d20 and add your proficiency modifier, on a 15 or higher, you find out the effects of that spell, and regain a spell slot of equal or lower value. This can't give you a spell slot higher than your maximum spell slot level.
Archon[edit]
At 20th level, you can assume a powerful arcane form. You may use your action to activate this effect for one minute. This form gives the following benefits.
While in this form, each turn you gain a second level spell use. This can be used to cast a spell or in a divine smite.
You are count as being under the effects of See Invisibility, Comprehend Languages, Detect Thoughts, and can cast Identify and activate Detect Thoughts as free actions. None of these effects require concentration.
You gain a flying speed equal to twice your walking speed.
Once this feature is used, you must take a long rest before using it again
