Oath of Apocalypse[edit]

Your oath was made to the essence of the existence; to stop the day of revelations at all cost. However, Apocalypse brings destruction and by binding yourself to it, you become a herald of chaos. In spite of this, it is your solemn promise to protect the world from agents of ruination; even if you have to bring forth destruction yourself. Paladins of the Oath of Apocalypse are usually Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Good beings who put extermination of heretical and chaotic entities at the top of their priority through any means necessary. However, regardless of their chosen methods, such a paladin will never harm the innocent or the lawful good. Extermination is executed only as a method to protect that which should be protected.

Tenets of Apocalypse[edit]

A paladin who takes this oath has the tenets of Apocalypse branded on their back.

Ender of Wars. War is but a disaster upon this world, a curse for the helpless. Ending wars is your holy duty, no matter the method.

Charity of Famine. Famine is a result of the greed and gluttony of the corrupt. Destroy them. Sustenance is a blessing that belongs to all.

Cure of Pestilence. Help those in need and cure those who are sick. Health is wealth. There is no excuse for not aiding the ailing.

Law of Death. That which has a beginning, must have an end. In spite of this, never yield to the unjust. Death is but a process, a new beginning of life. Save what you can, mourn what you could never; however, never surrender where there is even the tiniest silver of hope for salvation- march on.

Oath Spells[edit]

You gain Oath spells at the Paladin Levels listed:

Paladin Level Spells
3rd chaos bolt, compelled duel
5th zone of truth, ray of enfeeblement
9th call lightning, stinking cloud
13th dimension door, spirit of death
17th steel wind strike, wall of force

Channel Divinity[edit]

When you reach 3rd level, you gain the following two channel divinity options.

  • Messenger of Peace. You can use your Channel Divinity to augment your presence with divine power. As a bonus action, you grant yourself a +5 bonus to Charisma (Persuasion) checks for the next 10 minutes.
  • Herald of Ruin. You can use your Channel Divinity to bring about ruin upon the chaotic heretics. As a bonus action, you augment your armaments. For the next 1 hour, one weapon that you wield has a +2 bonus to damage rolls.

Aura of Apocalypse[edit]

At 7th level, any frightened creature you choose that comes within 10 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw or be restrained with black shackles until the end of your next turn. If a creature succeeds on the saving throw they are immune to the effect for 1 hour. At 18th level, the aura increases to 30 feet.

Advent of Revelation[edit]

At 15th level, you add your Charisma modifier to damage rolls against creatures frightened of you.

Beginning of the End[edit]

At 20th level, you transform into the Herald of Ruination and Apocalypse for a number of minutes equal to half of your Charisma modifier(no action required). While in this form, you gain the following effects:

  • You cause the world around you to become an ashen wasteland of the apocalypse. Clouds converge within 1 mile of you and rain foul black rain, the ground within 1 mile of you becomes ashen, barren wasteland and trees take on decrepit forms. This effect ends along with your transformation.
  • You summon your choice of celestials and fiends with a maximum challenge rating equal to your Charisma modifier. Summoned creatures appear in unoccupied spaces within 60 feet of you, act as your allies, and can't be controlled by any other creature. They disappear when they reach 0 hit points, you dismiss them (no action required), your transformation ends, or you die. You can maintain (your Charisma modifier × your proficiency bonus) CR worth of celestials and fiends at once.

You must complete a long rest before using this ability again.
