Nue[edit]

A fearsome Yokai with a snake tail, sharp claws, and many more bestial features.

Physical Description[edit]

Nue are fearsome Yokai that have many bestial features including a snake like tail, bestial sharp claws, and naturally armored furs or scales, they are naturally aligned with storms and thunder. Older Nue have advanced enough to take on more human forms keeping only some of their animal traits. Nue form when negative emotions combine after cruel and destructive storms, born from the wreckage and becoming storm bringers themselves, travelling often, where a Nue is seen rain surely follows, the longer a Nue remains in an area the harder the storms of the area become.

Nue Names[edit]

Nue Naming is often based on where the Nue was born, being creatures made from emotions, they do not have a concept of gender until they reach full maturity so names are often either the place they were born, the name of an item or animal, or a common unisex name

Nue Traits[edit]

The bestial Thunder Yokai
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age. Nue are Yokai and do not age normally, Nue are considered Mature upon birth, but gain true maturity and a human form after 200 years, Nue will live forever so long as they are not killed
Alignment. Nue without true maturity are often Chaotic Evil and only think of filling their stomachs, after gaining a human form Nue gain a plethora of emotion and can shift to any alignment
Size. Nue sizes vary greatly based on many factors, such as environment, food, and negative emotions surrounding them. Your size is Medium or small.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet and you have a climb speed equal to your walking speed.
Darkvision. Nue are predators by trade and have enhanced senses to help them hunt, you have darvision out to 60 feet
Born of Thunder. As a Nue, you are born of thunderous storms and are aligned with them closely, you have resistance to lightning damage and once per short rest you can call upon storm clouds to give you a fly speed equal to your walking speed for 1 minute
Yokai nature. As a Yokai you do not need to Sleep, Breath, or Drink, but you still require food to give you energy
Boundless Gluttony. You want to eat more, and you need to. You require twice as much food per day as a normal creature your size.
Natural Weapons. You have naturally sharp claws and fangs and a serpent like tail. Your claw attacks deal 1d8 slashing damage, your bite attack deals 1d6 piercing damage and your serpents bite has a reach of 10 feet and causes a DC 13 Constitution saving throw dealing 3d6 poison damage on a failed save and half as much on a success
Serpent tail. You have a prehensile tail that takes the form of a serpent, this tail can extend to a reach of 10 feet and can be used to grab and hold objects, make grapple checks, and activate magic items, but it cannot be used to wield a weapons
Languages. You can read, and write Common and one language of your choice.
