Non Problematic Orc Lore
From D&D Wiki
Orcs are the Maggots of Orcus.
Orcus was once a Titan and he was brothers to Surtur (Father of all Fire Giants), Balor (Father of all Sea Giants) and Jormagundar (Father of all Dragons). Orcus was either betrayed his brothers during the war against the gods and possibly the previous wars between the different tribes of Titans... so his brothers took Vengeance upon him and beat him to death and hurled his broken carcass into the yawning continental canyon known as Ginulgagap... from his flesh crawled forth thick white maggots... that left black and bloody holes in his charred and frozen flesh... these man sized maggots multiplied in numbers until he was picked clean of flesh after several years... and his charred bones remained...eventually these bloated maggots ruptured and the beings known as orcs sprung from these corpse maggots of Orcus... many of them separated into tribes and went into the cardinal directions of the world but others stayed behind to worship the colossal skeletal remains of Orcus... this awakened the soul of Orcus which allowed the entity to summon vortexes of balefire into the abyss so his most beloved, his Orcneas or corpses of Orcus could worship him and multiply in his hellish domain.
Orcs from the Island of Orkney
The Orcs who traveled across the western seas made their way to a vast archipelago of cold islands known as the Isles of Orkney. On this island there were many wild boars and standing monoliths. Originally the orcs lived in the outer islands and hunted seals and boars but one day they made their way south the the great Fey forest and they began to harvest it's lumber... which was sacred to the firbolgs and Elves that dwelled there... the orcs came into conflict both the Firbolg and the Elves who worshiped their great Archfey ancestors the Eladrin... suddenly the wild hunt appeared on the Islands led by three Kings (Nauda, Oberon and Cerunous) and Three Crones (Morgin, Scathach and Rhiannon) from the Siedhe and Unsiedhe courts and they placed a powerful curse upon the Orcs... for the orcs where greedy and violent similar to the beasts known as the Korks (boars) and hence these orcs where cursed with boar like features and a fey weakness to Iron... Hence these boar faced Orks or tribe of Kork had to learn how to make bronze and stone weapons and became the guardians of the isles of Orkney, Albion and Hiberne.
Why are Orcs violent? many of them are born in harsh environments with a lack of food and warmth. The animals they hunt are powerful, fierce and deadly so they must match these creatures in every way to simply bring them down. They soil of their homelands is either frozen tundra in the long winter or it becomes heavy and thick clay in the summer, so they need heavy plows and thick muscle to hew through the soil and gather the tubers and roots to feed their kinfolk. Aslo the orcs live in regions without much natural boundaries so they must be fierce to simply survive giant raids and human attacks of the lands they carve out.
