Skills Athletics +6, Perception +5, Stealth +3 Death Burst. When the nestled horror dies, it explodes in a burst of psychic energy. Each creature within 5 feet of it must make a DC 13 Wisdom saving throw, taking 7 (2d6) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Innate Spellcasting. The nestled horror's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 13). The nestled horror can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components: At will: minor illusion, vicious mockery ACTIONSMultiattack. The nestled horror makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tentacle. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage and 3 (1d6) necrotic damage. Tentacle. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage. Corpse Eater. The nestled horror feasts on the corpse of a Medium or smaller creature and regains 10 hit points. Fusing Vomit (Recharge 6). The nestled horror regurgitates necrotic slime in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or take 14 (4d6) necrotic damage and become restrained by slime until the end of its next turn.

A nestled horror's body is a twisted mass of musculature with fleshy wings and tentacles, connected at its stalk to a corpse by yet more tentacles, though it can't fly. The nestled horror has eyes along its tentacles and body, with a snaking head-like structure that ends in a gaping maw. The corpse attached beneath and the tentacles holding it in place give the impression of a toothy cage beneath the creature's winged form. The nestled horror seeks a home to call its own, where it can lay roots and grow into a massive nest of horrors. |
