Neorch[edit]

Physical Description[edit]

The Neorch are typically a tall, lean and muscular people, their skin possessing a strange golden hue and their blood a rich blue. A Neorch's irises are normally between green and purple on the colour spectrum, although there have been rare cases of red and the occasional pink. These people do possess hair, but only on their heads - this will cease growth after a certain age, often between 20 and 30 years.

Society[edit]

Neorch have, since the early days of their existence, divided themselves into different groups in which they spend the majority of their lives. Most groups settle and form villages or sometimes even found kingdoms, although smaller ones have been known to remain nomadic for great periods of time. Males and females mostly possess identical roles and have equal rights, however it is very unlikely for a female Neorch to be granted a position in a military organisation; likewise males are rarely found in positions of political power. Each settlement or nomad tribe quickly develops its own culture and ideologies, and often have vastly different theological views. One thing remains constant between societies, however: the past is of unbelievable importance to the race as a whole.

Neorch Names[edit]

Neorch tend to derive their - to the eyes of a Neorch - gender-neutral forenames from the names of other races, making slight but noticeable alterations, while using their own surnames and a familial title system. Surnames are often singular runes, or letters from the real-world ancient Greek alphabet.

Neorch Traits[edit]

Neorch are trained through numerous exercises of agility and willpower, granting them a powerful edge in combat and escape situations.

Normal Vision. Neorch have nearly identical visual capabilities to humans, although they have a wider colour detection range.
Flawless Sprint. With a running start of between 15-50 feet, you are able to run in a straight line at full speed across a body of water for a number of feet equal to the distance of the run-up. Turning or slowing down will cause you to fall in. At level 3, the maximum distance for this trait increases to 70 feet.
Vivid Memory. You immediately succeed any check made to recall an event you have experienced, or borne very close witness to.
Neorch Training. Whenever you perform a throwing attack with a weapon that has the thrown property, you may use your reaction on subsequent turns to call it back to your hand. Additionally, you gain proficiency with Longswords. Starting from 3rd level, you may treat any weapon that lacks the two-handed and heavy properties as possessing the thrown property, with a range of 30/30. You may throw a weapon in this way a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses after a short or long rest.
First And Last. You summon two spectral copies of yourself within 5 feet of you. They have 1 hit point, an AC of 12, and 20 feet of movement, and a +1 to every saving throw. They remain stationary unless commanded otherwise; you may use your bonus action to issue an instruction to both copies simultaneously - they do the same thing. They can perform simple actions such as interacting with objects, moving, and attacking. They have a +1 to attack rolls, and deal 1d4 bludgeoning damage on hit. These copies last for 30 seconds, or until reduced to 0 hit points, at which point they vanish.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common.
