A naginata has reach. You can strike opponents 10 feet away with it, but you can’t use it against an adjacent foe.

The naginata is a two-handed polearm. It is similar to the fauchard, with a curved blade on the end of a long pole. Historically, it was used in feudal Japan by the samurai, ashigaru (foot soldiers) and sōhei (warrior monks).
