Called the Raven Empress by many, Murminia is the Tressan pantheon's goddess of death. She never leaves her realm of Neithelis, located in a large closed-off space in Pandemonium's lowest layer of Agathion, but appears to those within the domain as a regal and beautiful human or elf woman with a slender build, black hair and raven wings, often wearing a midnight blue cloak.
Dogma[edit]
In Murminia's eyes, only the unjust need fear death - those who have led honorable lives will be well cared for upon their arrival in Neithelis, while the wicked are thrown out into the winds of Pandemonium as punishment. Her teachings instruct the faithful to not resist death's hold and see it instead as an opportunity to join the Raven Empress in her realm, as well as to hunt the undead so their souls can come to rest in Murminia's arms. Her followers are expected to stamp out necromancy wherever it lurks, as the creation of the undead is an affront to the goddess.
Clergy and Temples[edit]
Murminian clerics are solemn figures dressed in black who maintain the black stone temples to the Raven Empress. Their rites mainly involve funerals, and indeed they leave anything not related to death to the clergy of allied gods. Temples to Murminia are ornate monuments carved from black stone and almost resemble mausoleums despite no dead being interred within.
Pantheon[edit]
Murminia is one of the most respected deities among the Tressan pantheon, owing both to her impartial and balanced nature as well as her formidable power. Due to her desire for peace among the living and the dead, she has few enemies amongst the gods.
