Murder Hobo[edit]

Everyone who plays D&D knows and dreads you. At its core, D&D is a game about roleplay and cooperation, but not to you. To you, D&D is about killing, looting and killing some more. You probably don’t have a backstory, because you live in the moment.

You kill monsters, and that's about it. If an NPC isn't directly giving you directions to the Orc castle, then you'll kill them to. People make fun of you following the main plot, but the jokes on them - the real plot is senseless violence.

Languages: Any one.

Equipment: A simple weapon of your choice.

Feature: Combat Over Roleplay[edit]

You are only interested in combat, and find roleplay to be painfully boring. You get a +2 bonus to any combat-related roll and a -3 bonus to all other rolls.

Suggested Characteristics[edit]

Murderhobos only exist to well… murder, but that doesn’t mean they’re all identical.

d6 Personality Trait
1 I mutilate the bodies of NPCs after killing them.
2 I laugh uncontrollably when murderhoboing.
3 I act perfectly normal until I start playing D&D. Nobody suspects I’m a murderhobo until it’s too late.
4 I keep a list of all the campaigns I’ve ruined.
5 I min-max in order to be better at killing.
6 I take pity on players who do things other than kill and loot.
d6 Ideal
1 Heroism. The DM forces their sexual fantasies into the game. I murderhobo to disrupt that. (Good)
2 Freedom. The rules of the game don’t matter, only fun does!!! (Chaotic)
3 Nihilism. It’s a game, not the real world. I’m not actually hurting anyone. (Neutral)
4 Cruelty. I just love it when NPCs tremble in fear of my blade. (Evil)
5 Spite. I don’t like the other players, they don’t deserve to have a good campaign. (Evil)
6 Ignorance. Wait, you’re telling me that there’s more to D&D than senseless killing?. (Any)
d4 Bond
1 There was this one DM who was so nice that I actually went along with the plot.
2 I’m especially likely to kill an NPC if they remind me of a real person that I don’t like.
3 I got kicked out of a group that I really liked, and I regret my murderhoboing to this day.
4 I started playing D&D when I was 10, and I didn’t know any better.
d4 Flaw
1 I’m too lazy to do anything other than kill and loot.
2 I only attack defenseless NPCs because I’m too scared of fighting monsters.
3 I lack the creativity to flesh out my character.
4 “What do you mean burning down an orphanage makes me chaotic evil? I’m chaotic neutral I swear!”
