Mirror Spawn[edit]
Medium aberration, lawful evil Armor Class 17 (natural armor)
Saving Throws Dex +7 Fragment. When the mirror spawn is reduced to 0 hit points, it shatters, dealing 10 (3d6) slashing damage to all enemies within 20 feet of it. ACTIONSMultiattack. The mirror spawn makes two attacks, only one of which can be with its Diamond Slice. Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage. Diamond Slice. Ranged Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, range 40 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d10 + 4) slashing damage. REACTIONSBurning Glass. When the mirror spawn takes fire damage, it absorbs the heat, causing the first claw attack it makes before the end of its next turn to deal an additional 4 (1d8) fire damage. Duplicate. When the mirror spawn takes damage, it can create three duplicates of itself in unoccupied spaces it can see within 20 feet of itself. Each duplicate has 10 hit points and can't move or take any actions, bonus actions or reactions, but at the start of the mirror spawn's turn, it can swap places with a duplicate. Shatter Spark. When the mirror spawn takes lightning damage, it emits a piercing noise at a point it can see within 60 feet of it. Each creature in a 10-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw. A creature takes 13 (3d8) thunder damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature made of inorganic material such as stone, crystal, or metal has disadvantage on this saving throw. |
These humanoid glass creatures are native to the mirror plane. There are very rare windows into the mirror realm scattered deep in diamond mines. When a person looks into the mirror realm windows it will appear as if they are looking into a mirror. Any attempt to touch the mirrors will have your mortal body fall unconscious while your soul is taken into the mirror realm. The only way to escape is by destroying your mirror spawn. The mirror spawn are territorial creatures and do not enjoy others mining away around their windows. |
