Mind of the Ram[edit]

The Mind of the Ram is a Bodily Relic that appears as a single gem that rest on the person in questions forehead. The person who has this Bodily Relic also has two, long, curling ram horns that grow out of their heads on either side of the gem, these horns are not actually part of the Bodily Relic, but instead are physical affects the Relic has on the body. The Mind of the Ram is actually a long, gem-like needle that penetrates the persons forehead and into the frontal lobe, only the tip of this needle is visible from outside of the body, therefore it appears as a gem that rests on the forehead of the person in question.

Nature of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

Physical Affects of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

People who have this Bodily Relic tend to have slightly rougher, leathery skin than others. Also, the hair of someone who has this Bodily Relic will turn white at a very early age (anywhere from age 10 to 20 for a human) and is always very thin, getting caught up in the wind with ease. The most obvious physical effect the Mind of the Ram has on the body of the person who has it is the two prominent ram horns that grow from either side of their head.

  • In game terms the person who has this Bodily Relic has a +3 natural armor bonus to AC.

Mental Affects of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

People who have the Mind of the Ram tend to be very focused, and single-minded in their way of thinking, being able to center themselves on a single task pour their heart and soul into it. This is believed to be a result of the Mind of the Ram altering the frontal lobe of the person in question. Although, when presented with multiple things at once the person finds it difficult to focus on any one thing at once.

  • In game terms the person who has this Bodily Relic has +4 bonus to their Intelligence score and recieves a −4 penalty on both hands when dual wielding, this penalty stacks with all other penalties a person recieves for dual wielding.

Properties of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

Crafting and Transfering of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

The Bodily Relic Mind of the Ram is a very difficult Relic to transfer from one person to another. First the gem-like needle that is the Relic must be removed from the original person who had it, which is actually impossible unless the person in question is dead or unconcious. After the needle is pulled out of the persons forehead it immediately seems to congeal into a state similar in color and texture to a twig instead of a gem-like needle. If the original owner of the Relic is still alive then their horns begin to rot and fall off and they immediately go into a withdrawal like state as their body adjusts to not having the Mind of the Ram anymore. During this period they must make a fortitude saving throw (DC 10+number of days since they lost the Relic) each day for a month or take d6 constitution damage that lasts for one week, if the persons constitution score drops to zero before the end of this month, then they die outright.

After the Relic is removed from the original owner, it must then be prepared to be entered into the recipient, this requires a weeks time and a liter of blood from the recipient. The Relic must be soaked in this blood for 5 days, being removed once every 4 hours and heated for 5 minutes over an open flame. After this week has passed the Relic must be removed from the blood and dried off, the Relic will appear as a dull version of what it originally was, this dull needle must then be quickly stabbed into the recipients forehead (they need not be concious) up to the deepest it can reach, there is a small chance (4%) that this will actually kill the recipient instantly, if this happens then the Relic can be reused on another person if they so wish. Only a character who has 16 or more ranks in Craft(Bodily Relic) knows any of this information, the craft DC for this entire proccess is 24, if this DC is failed, then the Relic will not react to the preperation process and another one is required.

A person who is receiving this Bodily Relic is always disoriented and confused for a few weeks after recieving it, not enough to affect their actions to any major degree, but enough that they don't entirely understand everything that happens around them. During these weeks the person steadily grows two ram horns and their skin toughens. After these weeks the character is considered as having the Mind of the Ram.

Immunities of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

The Bodily Relic Mind of the Ram is made of a very solid material, it will not bend or break to any amount of damage short of 800 points, it will never heat to a temperature high enough to set something on fire, and it isn't shapable through any known arcane, divine, or psionic means.

Occurances of the Mind of the Ram[edit]

The Mind of the Ram is a rather rare Bodily Relic, only existing in a few, isolated places, the largest grouping of people who have this Bodily Relic is a small village of around 200 people that is located halfway up an obscure mountain, this Bodily Relic is passed down through bloodlines and is a ressesive gene. If two people have a child and they both have the Mind of the Ram then there is a 100% chance that the child, whether it's a boy or a girl, will have it also. If only one parent has the Mind of the Ram then there is only a 40% chance of the child having the Bodily Relic. If either of the parents were not born with the Mind of the Ram, but still have it, then lower the percent chance by 20%.
