Mikoto[edit]

"What makes me different from you? Well let's see, unlike you who have burning ambitions for achieving your goals, me and my people have a more delicate approach of living our lives. We enjoy the small things, such as gazing upon the stars and drinking the finest mead unlike you who wage wars and take arms when an issue must be resolved." - Mochi Yonhyakunijunana (the Four-hundred And Twenty Seventh), Mikoto Monk

Physical Description[edit]

Mikoto are slim and graceful, such is their elegance that even elves would envy them. Slightly longer but more slender than the common races, Mikoto are tall, standing at least a head over most. They have human-like facial features, except for long appendages on their heads that resemble rabbit ears which replace regular ears. They have faint fur on their skin and their coloration varies from pure white to baby blue, with black pigments on their ears, eye patches and other parts of their body.

History[edit]

The Mikoto once mingled with the common races and most of them could be found on the eastern island known as the Island of the Red Sunrise. One day the island was engulfed by conflict and war. The Mikoto being a pacifistic race didn't join the conflict and with their magic they moved towards one of the planet's satellites. There they spread their colony and turned the lifeless globe into their habitat. Nowadays they live their careless lives and don't bother with their old homeworld, though there are some Mikoto who venture back due to curiosity.

Society[edit]

The Mikoto are pacifistic race and dislike conflict. They are magically innate people and view magic as art. They live vain and careless lives, enjoying activities such as gazing the stars and indulge themselves in great feasts and festivals almost every day. Few Mikoto train their bodies and minds in martial arts however, though most of these are trained in self-defense and discipline rather than doing harm to another. Mikoto that walk the prime world are known as Tsukijin among the people in the Island of the Red Sunrise and as Moon People in other lands. Mikoto can be found among other races as diplomats, teachers, advisers and/or entertainers.

Mikoto Names[edit]

Mikoto names always start with the letter M. The reason for this is unknown among the other races and many of the current Mikoto, while the oldest Mikoto refuse to share it. They don't have surnames: instead they add a number in their name for each other that has the same name. For example if a Mikoto exists with the name Mako The Twenty-Second, a newborn that would be named with the same name would be known as Mako The Twenty-Third.
