Metallurgist (D20 Modern Class)
From D&D Wiki
Metallurgist[edit]
The Metallurgist is a Psionic being who specializes in the manipulation of metals. Although they are psionic, they do not have access to the normal psionic powers. Through deep internal focus they have honed their abilities to be adapted for the shear purpose of controlling metal. They do not mind dealing with other people for the off-chance that they may encounter a new material to play with. Their ability to manipulate metals is only limited by the strength of the material and their focus on controlling it.

Class Features[edit]
All of the following are class features of the Metallurgist:
- (Metal) Manipulate
Grants the Metallurgist the ability to manipulate any metal with the appropriate type. This is limited to the hardness/strength of the material that the Metallurgist is trying to control. The check DC to control the metal varies depending on the break DC of the metal plus the Metallurgist level. The Metallurgist must make a Concentration check. As long as the roll is lower than the check DC of the metal the Metallurgist can control that material for 10 minutes per level in Metallurgist, other wise the material is destroyed. Uses: 10 per Day + 5 per Metallurgist levels
- Craft Metallurgy
This grants the Metallurgist the ability to craft metal items with his metallurgy similar to how a blacksmith would craft items. This skill becomes a class skill once learned.
- Damage Reduction 5/metal
Through their experience the Metallurgist becomes slightly resistant to being damaged by most forms of metal.
- Metallurgy Burrow 20/ft
As the Metallurgist grows in their control over minerals of all types they gain the ability to burrow. They manipulate the surface and can form a tunnel in the material of the appropriate size and can move through the material as if they had the standard Burrow ability. Uses: 3/day
- Quicksilver Shell
Upon using this ability the user is surrounded by a hard shell of Quicksilver. This ability can be use in conjunction with the Manipulate ability to allow the Metallurgist to control the sphere of metal. Uses: 1/Day + 1 per 3 levels in Metallurgy.
- Dissipate Metal
After a successful Concentration check the Metallurgist can cause the target metal to disperse into 1/8th inch ball bearing size pieces. Uses: 1/Day + 1 per 5 Metallurgist levels
- Metallurgist Reflexes
While making Concentration checks to control metal the Metallurgist gains a situational +4 to Reflex saves that they must make. In addition they can no longer be caught flat footed.
- Tremorsight
The Metallurgist can attempt to make a Concentration check to allow them to sense any movement through the vibration in the material. This does not affect beings that make no contact with the material the Metallurgist is attempting to sense through. Range = 100ft radius/ 2 Metallurgist levels. Uses: 1/Day + 1 per 3 Metallurgist levels
