Corrosive Presence The melt strider can gradually melt its environment, maintaining its appearance, but changing the material into Melt. The Melt is a permeable material that traps creatures. The Melt can be detected by a successful DC 13 Wisdom (Perception) check or avoided by a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw. While in the Melt a creature's speed is halved.

Melt Glider. The melt strider ignores movement restrictions caused by the Melt.

Melt Sense The melt strider can determine the exact location of another creature touching the Melt within 120 ft.

Spider Climb. The melt strider can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage and 2 (1d4) acid damage.

Melt striders are deformed mutations of older insectoids, hiding away in dark corners. These acidic creatures eat away at their environment, slowly melting it to suit their nature, while leaving it with the same appearance. Unsuspecting creatures that wander into these melts quickly find themselves trapped waist-deep as melt striders glide towards them down the walls.
