Mechanized Engineer (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Artificer Subclass
The Mechanized Engineer is an artificer who focuses on technology beyond the usual steam and clockwork contraptions. They're tinkerers who use magic to bridge the gap between fantasy and modern technology, capable of creating powerful machines and gadgets that push the boundaries of what is considered possible.
- Advanced Machinist
When you choose this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Smith's tools. If you already have this proficiency, you may choose another artisan's tools. Your understanding of advanced machinery allows you to create mundane technology (like simple vehicles or electrical circuits) given enough time and materials. Additionally, you learn the cantrips mending and shocking grasp. These cantrips don't count against the number of artificer cantrips you know.
- Prototype Vehicle
Also at 3rd level, you've developed the capacity to create a Prototype Vehicle. With 8 hours of work and the expenditure of 50 gp worth of metal and other raw materials, you can create a Prototype Vehicle: a magically-powered machine designed for transportation.
- Advanced Prototype
At 9th level, your Prototype Vehicle gains an upgrade. You can either improve its land speed to 60 feet, give it the ability to traverse water at a speed of 30 feet, or give it flight capabilities at a speed of 30 feet but only up to a height of 10 feet. It also gains an additional 50 hit points, and it now has immunity to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
- Defensive Systems
At 13th level, you can augment your Prototype Vehicle with defensive magic systems. You can use a spell slot to cast a protective spell (like Shield, Protection from Energy, etc.) and bind it to your vehicle, the spell will last until it is dispelled or until the next dawn. The spell must be a level you can cast, and it must be a spell that targets creatures or an area. While bound to your vehicle, the spell provides its benefits to the vehicle and all creatures within it.
- Master Engineer
At 15th level, your Prototype Vehicle becomes a marvel of engineering. Its hit points increase by another 50. You can now choose two from the following upgrades: increase its land speed to 120 feet, water speed to 60 feet, flight speed to 60 feet and maximum altitude to 500 feet, or give it the ability to submerge and move underwater at a speed of 30 feet. Moreover, you can now integrate one of your artificer infusions into your Prototype Vehicle, changing the infusion on a long rest.
- Subclass Spell List
Artificers gain their subclass spells at 3rd, 5th, 9th, 13th, and 17th levels. For the Mechanized Engineer, these spells focus on enhancing their technological creations and protecting their allies. 3rd level: absorb elements, jump 5th level: heat metal, levitate 9th level: lightning bolt, haste 13th level: freedom of movement, fabricate 17th level: wall of force, animate objects These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.
