Manu[edit]

The Manu.
The Humans, Named The Manu by the creator gods, are unique among the sentient races of Earthe' in that they alone do not have a racial purpose. Instead they have been cursed with creating their own individual purposes. May Fate be kind to them.

Personality/Philosophy[edit]

The Manu of Earthe' are confusing to all the other races. Human Nature as the term is oft used by The Manu changes definition with every utterance. There are a few personality traits that are universal, as has been learned by the epochs humans have been around.
These are:
Adaptability. The Manu can exist and thrive in every environment on the planet, and other planets.
Courage. The Manu have a drive within them to overcome great adversity even at the cost of their own lives.
Fairness. The Manu generally do not tolerate abuse of power, degradation of others, and the oppression of others. Granted The Manu have been guilty of these very things in their history, but ultimately those Manu who propagate these behaviors get overthrown or removed from existence by the general Manu Populace.
Stubbornness. The quickest way to get one of The Manu to do something is to tell them they can't.
Adoption. The Manu have an uncanny ability to make friends, tame untamable beasts, acquire and love their pets (which can be anything), and adopt orphans of every other race. They succeed more than they fail in these endeavors and it is always a shock when other races see what their Human Neighbors have done with the latest beast that was eating their livestock.
Survivability. The Human term, "Never Say Die", has brought empires to ruin. From the ancient humans who became the Gith and threw off the yoke of slavery by the Illithids, to the current "Last Human Kingdom" of Danzig-Kasubiski, The Manu will invariably overcome every obstacle, and not only survive, but thrive."

Family[edit]

The Manu have a few types of Family Paradigm's depending on Culture, Social Status, Wealth, and Circumstances.
Elderly members of a Manu Family are usually cared for by the Family but may not live with the Primary Family Group. This depends on different factors.

Monogamy Single Family. Parents and Children.
Monogamy Extended Family. Parents, Grand Parents, Siblings, and Children.
Monogamy Shared Household. Separate Parents and Children living in a large home or multiple homes on shared land.
Polygamy Single Family. All Parents and Children of All Parents.
Polygamy Extended Family. All Parents, Grand Parents, Siblings and Children.
Shared Households. Individuals not necessarily married living together with or without children.
Single Parent with Children.
Single Parent with Extended Family.
Other. Anything not fitting into an option above.

Manu Types[edit]

There Primary and Secondary types of Humans. These determines their physical traits.

    • Secondary: Nordic, Celt, Gaul, German, Slav, Aegean, Iberian, Saxon, Frank, Hun, Goth, Scythian, Magyar, Turk, Skåne, Saami.
  • Asian: Primary
    • Secondary: Mongol, Thai, Khmer, Hmong, Ko, Qin, Han, Wa, Ainu, Malay, Tamil, Viet.
  • Indo: Primary
    • Secondary: Hindi, Nepali, Punjabi, Filipino, Dravidian, Bengali, Chakma, Muhajir, Aryan(Iran), Jarawa, Khasi, Munda, Urak, Lawoi.
  • Nubian: Primary
    • Secondary: Yoruba, Zulu, Pygmy, Massai, Bantu, Akan, Kongo, Somali, San, Igbo, Nilotic, Oroma, Mande', Shona, Luba, Kenuri.
  • Mediterranean/North African: Primary
    • Secondary: Carthagean, Arab, Berber, Kushite, Tuareg, Bedouin, Coptic, Libyan, Hausa, Fula, Maghrebi, Sudanese.
  • Levantine: Primary
    • Persona, Semite, Arab, Canaanite, Judean, Berber, Sumerian, Druze, Arameans, Syrian, Samaritan.
  • Polynesian: Primary
    • Hawaiian, Samoan, Maori, Tahitian, Rapa Nui, Tongan, Pacific Islander.
  • Mackinaw: Primary
    • Inuit, Cree, Siberian, Athabascan, Lakotan, Navajo, Ute, Salish, Seminole, Apache, Mohawk.
  • Mesos: Primary
    • Mayan, Caribe, Olmec, Aztec, Toltec, Nahuatl, Otomi, Tepe, Haus, Zapotec, Yucatani, Pure 'Pecha.
  • Taraba: Primary
    • Incan, Mestizo, Quechua, Nazca, Mapuche, Wari, Cuzco, Qom, Lupaca, Yanomamo, Tupi, Tule, Chiqui, Yanes, Arawak, Napo.

Special: Sahul (OOG Australian area)
The continent of Sahul and surrounding islands are home to the Sahul people. 90% of The Sahul are a particular type of Spirit Folk (Atami) with the remaining 10% normal Human. All are descended from the Native Aboriginal Peoples of the land. Sahula (plural) Humans survived the Majority of Human Losses due to the War of Ashes due to it's geographic location and the special conditions of the land. (See Atami for more information).

Alignment[edit]

Work in progress 22 June 2024. If Alignment is used: Primarily Lawful in that The Manu always tend to follow a Leader and the rules created by such.

If Alignment is not used:
The Manu can be of any Nature or Demeanor.

Lands[edit]

Since the War of Ashes ended hundred of years ago, 80% of the Human Population world wide was killed, or turned into some form of undead. Currently there is only one Human Kingdom that has the majority of all of The Manu.
This is The Kingdom of Danzig-Kasubuski on the Baltic Coast.
There are scattered settlements throughout the world, but they they are no larger than a town, and are under the government of other Races, or they are trying to survive in the wilds.

Language[edit]

Within the Earthe' Campagin setting the Goddess of Language created the First Language, known as Basra or "Common". (OOG For Flavor purposes Sanskrit is the base for Basra.)

From Basra all other languages came to be, and over millenia seperate Languages have eveolved.

The Manu Subtypes have their own individual Language and Basra (Common) is kept alive and taught everywhere by the Preists of Ma'at'a'kai the Goddess of Fate, Destiny, Language, and Writing.
This means there is no Specific Human Language shared by all subtypes. Each Subtype is a Seperate Language.
Example: Celt is different from Maori, which is different from Mongul.

Since the War of Ashes and the consolidation of The Manu in one kingdom Sages estimate that a new singular Manu Language will evolve over time.
