The caster creates several magic missiles (one per caster level, maximum ten). These missiles float above the caster's head until someone within range damages them with a weapon or weapon-like spell. After the caster takes damage from an attack, one missile unerringly strikes the attacker for 1d4+1 damage. If an enemy attacks the caster more than once in a round, multiple missiles will retaliate.. When all the missiles are gone, the spell ends.

If the creature has Spell Resistance, it affects the missiles.

The missiles count as magic missiles for all purposes. For example, they are blocked by shield spells.
