A single missile of magical energy darts forth from your fingertip and strikes its target, dealing 7d8+14 points of force damage.
The missile strikes unerringly, even if the target is in melee combat or has less than total cover or total concealment. Specific parts of a creature can’t be singled out. Inanimate objects are not damaged by the spell.
For every two caster levels beyond 14th the missile gains another 1d8+2 damage, 7d8+15 at 15th, 8d8+16 at 16th, 8d8+17 at 17th, and the maximum of 10d8+20 at 20th level or higher. You must designate targets before you check for spell resistance or roll damage.
Material Components: A piece of copper that's been hit by a magic missile spell, other then your own.
