Mage Remnant (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Mage remnant[edit]
"He looked in the mirror seeing a ghastly form. An elderly, no not elderly, a rotting corpse of a man. This man had familiar eyes, deep blue like his own. This walking corpse started to look more and more like him. The hair, the mouth, the skin, everything. Then he looked down at his own body, but it wasn't there."
Physical Description[edit]
Mage remnants aren't physical beings, only able to lift or push physical objects less than twenty pounds or so, and thus only appear as a patch of haze in a semi-humanoid shape. If they are looked at through a mirror, reflective piece of metal, or enhanced magical vision such as truesight they take the form of an old seemingly rotting man or woman with log scraggly gray or white hair and similar other features to the ones they had in life.
History[edit]
A mage remnant is created whenever a mage so dedicated to magic they would give their life for it dies. Their dedication pushes beyond death and burns into a full magical apparition.
Attitudes and beliefs[edit]
Most Mage Remnants believe that the only true greatness is magic and knowledge. This belief often drives them mad searching for knowledge and magical power. They dislike anyone who prefers god or war to knowledge and power. They cannot tolerate stupid people. Stupid people drive them even more insane then they already are.
Mage Remnant Names[edit]
Mage Remnants always keep the name they chose in life because choosing a new name is to much time spent wasting when they could be learning.
