Necrotic Aura. The mackralich emits a necrotic aura in a 5-foot radius around itself, which reduces the hit point maximum of any creature that starts its turn in the aura by 1d4 until the end of their turn. Undead creatures are immune to this effect. Additionally, any Small creature that dies within 15 feet of the mackralich rises as a zombie under the mackralich's control after 1 minute. The mackralich can control a number of zombies in this way equal to its Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).

Undead Nature. A mackralich doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage, plus 2 (1d4) necrotic damage.


The mackralich is a fearsome undead creature that roams the depths of the ocean. Measuring up to 2-feet in length this skeletal fish has a gaping maw filled with razor-sharp teeth. Its bones are bleached white from years of exposure to the salt water, and its empty eye sockets glow with an eerie green light.
