The lung fox has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing, sight, or smell. Magic Resistance. The lung fox has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects. Intelligent and wise, lung foxes are often called upon by spellcasters as familiars and are capable of controlling fire and air. Lung foxes fly by flapping their oversized ears, which are feathered like the wings of birds. Lung foxes live in places high off the ground, such as the branches of tall trees or rocky outcroppings. When threatened, lung foxes fly out of reach, using magic to cover their retreat. Variant: Lung Fox Familiar Some lung foxes serve other creatures as familiars. Such lung foxes have the following trait. Familiar. The lung fox can serve another creature as a familiar, forming a magic, telepathic bond with that willing companion. While the two are bonded, the companion can sense what the lung fox senses as long as they are within 1 mile of each other. While the lung fox is within 10 feet of its companion, the companion shares the lung fox's Magic Resistance trait. At any time and for any reason, the lung fox can end its service as a familiar, ending the telepathic bond.
