Lucky Bastard[edit]

They never even imagine what is about to happen.
—Rild the Sly, Half Elf Lucky Bastard

Anyone can be lucky, but not everyone can be a Lucky Bastard. It takes some skill, a lot of luck, and a quite a bit of physical prowess. Lucky Bastards are a jack-of-all-trades of sorts, they are strong, healthy, hearty, and even skillful. While strong and skillful, a Lucky Bastard is not always as lucky as his name makes him sound and therefor often makes friends with Bards and Clerics.

These lucky rogues tend to worship Gods of chance and luck, but are not devoted to any one god in particular. Some Lucky Bastards worship the Deity of their youth regardless if it is a God of luck or not. Like any fighter or ranger, a Lucky Bastard may pray for his fortune or just head off to the local tavern to toss the dice. Few Lucky Bastards have a real profession, they tend to live life on the edge.

Mythical Luck

At 3rd level, you gain number of lucky points equal to your half your rogue level (rounded up). Whenever you or a creature within 60 feet must make an ability check, attack roll or saving throw, you can use your reaction and spend 1 lucky point to force that creature to reroll the d20, after the result of the roll is known, but before the outcome is determined. You can re-roll a die that have already been re-rolled while using this feature.

You can also use a lucky point when you make an attack, as a reaction, to make that attack at advantage.

You regain all your lucky points after finishing a short or a long rest.

Dodgy Target

At 9th level, when you or a creature you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to cause that attack to target a different creature within range, using the same roll. If there's no creature within range, the attack misses. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.

Lucky Strike

At 13th level, you have an uncanny knack for hitting creatures when you would otherwise miss. If your attack misses a target within range, you can turn the miss into a hit. This attack add your Sneak Attack bonus.

You can use this feature once, and regain your ability to do so after finishing a long rest.

Bend Fate

At 17th level, things seem to always go your way. Once per turn, when you fail an ability check or attack roll, you can reroll the check.

In addition, if you haven't used this feature on your turn, you can use it as a reaction to reroll a failed saving throw, or to force an hostile creature that hits you with an attack or wins a contested ability check to reroll its check.
