Mitigating factors: backlash 20d6 points of damage (-20 DC), burn 20,000 XP (-200 DC), increase casting time by 10 minutes (-20 DC), expensive focus/material 1,000,000gp/500,000gp (-200 DC), delay manifestation of spell effect by 10 minutes (-6 DC), Epic Leadership required (ad hoc -75 DC). |
After a 10 minute delay, the caster telepathically performs a Diplomacy Skill (Epic) check which cannot be avoided by any means (including things like mind blank). This check works like the regular version (except for causing 20d6 backlash damage to the caster and the fact that one can't avoid it's effects), but if the caster manages to turn the victim into a fanatic follower, it will remain with this attitude forever, and cannot be changed by any means short of divine intervention.
(However, as much as succeeding in the Diplomacy Skill can help, one should consider how unpleased the targeted creature will be if you fail.)
