Living Corpse (5e Spell)
From D&D Wiki
4th-level Necromancy | |
Casting time: | 1 action |
---|---|
Range: | Touch |
Components: | corpse or undead servant, oil, ash. |
Duration: | Indefinite |
By mixing ash and oil in your palm and then touching a corpse or undead servant, you cause the targets physical form to change and mend, becoming whole and gaining pigment in it's skin. The creature is transformed to resemble what it would've looked like when it was alive. Any missing limbs are sealed as though the limb had been amputated long ago and healed over. You can mold and shape certain features to your liking, as long as the DM doesn't think they would be beyond the spells capability (ex. nose size and shape, ears having lobes or no lobe, more plump or thinner lips, fifteen pound weight change, straightening crooked bones or joints, taller or shorter by up to 2 inches, hair or eye color, adding or removing freckles or moles, etc.).
The creature is still considered to be undead for the purposes of damage reduction and immunities, but the body no longer smells of decay and will not continue to decay. The effects of this spell are indefinite, however may spend one bonus action to drop this spell and cause the target to revert to its original undead form at any time. A target already under the effects of this spell cannot receive them again until the current spell effects are dismissed.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level, you may make somewhat larger changes to the affected target, such as up to 30 pound weight change (including muscle mass change), up to 5 inches in height change, regrow lost appendages, you may also change the pigment of skin color. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level, you may make more drastic changes to the target that suit your liking, such as up to 80 pound weight change (including muscle mass change), up to 12 inches in height difference, and you may also cause lost or missing limbs to regrow.
