What looks like a bizarre cross between a turtle, boomerang, and some large herd animal ambles along on four hoofed feet that sprout close to the middle of the creatures anatomy give the Littoralope a bizarre gate. Two boomerang shaped structures of almost identical build are set on either side of the beast making you wonder which end is the head?

Placid, slow-moving quadrupeds with little evidence of intelligence, littoralopes depend on their armored hides and "two-headed" profile to confuse Darwin IV's predators. Its bizarre anatomy allows it to confuse foes and ultimately confound those who rely on other means of sight granting it some chance of survival. The colors of a Littoralope range from dark purple to the deepest jet. They often congregate in herds to improve their chances of survival.

Combat[edit]

The Littoralope first course of action in combat is to run. It relies on confusing its opponent making them attack its false head instead of its real head. Its armored hide can deflect most other attacks to its body.

Blindsight (Ex): A Littoralope can “see” by emitting high frequency sounds, inaudible to most other creatures, that allow them to locate objects and creatures within 120ft. A silence spell negates this and renders the Litteralope effectively blind.

Immunities (Ex): Due to its lack of eyes a Skewer has immunity to gaze attacks, visual effects, illusions, and other forms of attack that rely on sight.

Strange Anatomy (Ex): The Littoralope possesses a tough protrusion of thick hide, armor plating, and extra skin jutting out from its flank that mimics its head. Any opponent with the ability to distinguish the Littoralopes anatomy by vision, while attacking a Littoralope must succeed on a DC 17 Spot check or they attack this false head.

In regards to a foe using any other sensory such as blindsight, blindsense, or tremorsense only have a 50% chance of rolling a successful critical against a Littoralope.

The head is regarded as an object with a hardness of 10 and HP of 24. In addition, use the Littoralopes AC for this false head.

This extra HP in no way is subtracted or added to the Litterolopes total HD when attacked or damaged.

Skills[edit]

A Littoralope has a +8 racial bonus on Listen checks.
