Shapechanger. The slaad can use its action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid, or back into its true form. Its statistics, other than its size, are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Innate Spellcasting. The slaad's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). The slaad can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: detect magic, detect thoughts, invisibility (self only), mage hand, misty step
2/day each: fear, fireball, fly, tongues
1/day each: mass cure wounds, plane shift

Magic Weapons. The slaad's weapon attacks are magical.

Magic Resistance. The slaad has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Regeneration. The slaad regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point.

Slaad's Welcome. By spending 10 minutes in physical contact with a willing humanoid or slaad that is not a pink or life slaad, the life slaad can transform the willing creature into a Pink Slaad, which retains the willing creature's memories and personality. This can also be used to turn a Pink Slaad that has lived at least one hundred years into a life slaad.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The slaad makes one bite attack, then either two attacks with its claws, or three attacks with its rapier.

Bite (Slaad Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 5) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) radiant damage.

Claws (Slaad Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (1d10 + 5) slashing damage plus 7 (2d6) radiant damage.

Rapier. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (1d8 + 5) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) radiant damage.


Displeased with the corruption of chaos towards negativity instead of allowing it to flow freely in both good and evil forms as chaos should, a green slaad decided to create a new slaad species to balance out the death slaadi and their grey slaad lackies. After some experimentation in tandem with human archmages, the green slaad turned itself into the first of a new breed, a life slaad. After the birth of the first life slaad, various other green slaadi became able to transform into Pink Slaadi rather than gray slaadi after a hundred years of learning, and by earning the respect of a life slaad after living a hundred years, could become life slaadi themselves.

Corrupted by the positive energy plane instead of the negative one, life slaadi cherish all of life's possibilities and randomness, and only seek to produce new slaadi when their numbers become dangerously low, and even then only from those who have nothing left to live for as humanoids. In addition, they are far more welcomed by other races, as the positive energy plane grants the life slaadi altruistic goals to direct their chaotic personalities towards and holy powers akin to celestials. This lack of numbers and friendly relationship with humanoids makes life slaadi the target of much envy and bullying from death slaadi. However, one must remember that life slaadi are still slaadi, and no matter how pure their intentions and actions may seem, they are always a random chance away from doing something unpredictable, and planning around them is extremely complicated.
