A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each turn, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effects ends for it, the creature is immune to the Leviathan's Frightful Presence for 24 hours. Steam Breath (Recharge 5-6). The leviathan exhales a stream of hot steam in a 120 foot cone. The leviathan makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite's damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the leviathan, and it takes 42 (12d6) acid damage at the start of each of the leviathan's turns.
LEGENDARY ACTIONSThe leviathan can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The leviathan regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn. Detect. The leviathan makes a Wisdom (Perception) check. |
The leviathan is an immense dragon-like sea creature, 300 to 500 feet long. It is the lord of all seas and the intermediary between aquatic creatures and the gods. Its mouth is 20 to 30 feet wide and opens 40 to 50 feet, with teeth up to 3 to 4 feet long. Older specimens are closer to 500 feet long with some ancient primordials at above 500 feet long. True primordials are very old, from the beginning of time. If one could speak to the leviathan, histories, lore, arcana and information might be related. There is a chance that the leviathan would interact with others, but it may want something in exchange. Lair ActionsOn initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the leviathan takes a lair action to cause one of the following effect; the leviathan can't use the same effect two rounds in a row:
Regional EffectsThe region containing a legendary leviathan's lair is warped by the leviathan's magic, which creates one or more of the following effects:
If the leviathan dies, these effects fade over the course of 1d10 days. |
