Leporidae are anthropomorphic creatures that have lapine features such as rabbit ears, claws, nose, and a fluffy tail. Along with that, they also have slightly larger than average eyes that are always pale pink in color that seem to see through one's soul and surroundings. They often wear some kind of eye covering to conceal them. Leporidae have skin color similar to that of humans but they also have blotches of White, brown, black, gray, red (a mix of these colors is also allowed) on their skin, which is covered by fur anyway. Their hair is curly and thick, almost like toughs or afros, and they also sometimes wear heels on their feet for more balance. Size wise they can be either small or medium-sized, but shorter than a human.

History[edit]

Leporidae are often stereotyped as cheats and swindlers. This way of thinking stems from the effect their eyes have on normal individuals. Almost all other woodland inhabiting races know better than to believe in this. Humans tend to believe in this more. Leporidae live in underground colonies with other leporidae in the thickest parts of the forest. Leporidae don't often worship deities but show great reverence for the spirits of land instead. A deity the leporidae would worship would likely have a nature-based domain, such as the Air, Animal, Earth, Fire, Plant, Sun, Water, and Weather.

They claim ancestry from the moon, claiming to have arrived on the land via panspermic insemination into the local wild rabbits, which then birthed them as anomalies. This has yet to be verified by anyone but some do allude to the lapine shadow visible on full moon nights. The peculiar treat leporidae love is also supposedly connected to a lunar origin. Leporidae love rice cakes called mochi, which requires vigorous pounding with a mallet or hammer to make. This is not a conventional food and some believe they carried it here from their home up on the moon. Others link them to fey. Perhaps they came from the moon which looks upon the Feywilds then.

Society[edit]

Leporidae are reclusive and live their lives in underground burrows and are cautious to outsiders, so it is rare to see one on the surface at all. Underground, they live in a network of tunnels, with families having their own burrows for litter. Since they spend most of their time underground, they are very socially inept to surface culture. On the surface, leporidae are considered to be charlatans in the human world and often avoid the lawful authorities. So they are often wearing cloaks and similar clothing in order to cover their ears, eyes, and tail. Some leporidae make a decent living selling their mochi, which is quite popular with human children among others. It is said the Raba subgroup of leporidae make the best mochi due to their ableness to pound the rice. Hune are not as strong and are usually the ones people see as slippery troublemakers. They have been notorious for forming gangs and doing derogatory dances at figures of authority. In general, both Raba and Hune capabilities are more a matter of specialization than actual subraces, as all leporidae have these properties.
