Kokushibou Slayer (5e Class)
[edit]
Kokushibou Slayer[edit]
Kokushibou Slayers are a unique class of warriors who have forged a deadly bond with the demonic realms. They possess extraordinary swordsmanship skills, honed through years of training and battle. These warriors have delved into the dark arts and acquired demonic powers, which they channel through their weapons and unleash upon their foes.
As a Kokushibou Slayer, you harness the strength and agility of a samurai, combined with the supernatural abilities bestowed upon you by demonic entities. Through dark pacts and rituals, you have formed a connection with the forces of the underworld, gaining access to a variety of infernal powers. These powers might include enhanced strength, agility, or even the ability to manipulate demonic energies to strike fear into the hearts of your enemies.
In addition to your mastery of the blade, you possess innate resistance to demonic influences and can tap into the essence of these dark beings to augment your own abilities. You might develop the ability to sense the presence of demons, resist their corrupting influence, or even temporarily adopt demonic features in battle, such as glowing eyes or a sinister aura.
Creating a Kokushibou Slayer[edit]
To create a Kokushibou Slayer, imagine a character who is a relentless warrior, combining the deadly precision of a samurai with the infernal powers bestowed by demonic entities. Consider their backstory and the nature of their pact with the demonic realms. Think about how they acquired their swordsmanship skills and how they navigate the dangerous path of wielding demonic powers without succumbing to darkness themselves.
Remember, the path of a Kokushibou Slayer is fraught with peril, as the boundary between humanity and demonhood blurs. It is up to you to decide how your character maintains their balance, using their demonic abilities to protect the innocent and vanquish the forces of evil while resisting the temptation to embrace the darkness within.

Transparent World[edit]
Enhanced Perception: As a Kokushibou Slayer, you have the ability to perceive the world in an extraordinary way. By activating your special mark, you can see through the bodies of living beings, gaining a detailed view of their muscles, circulatory system, internal organs, bones, and joints. This heightened awareness allows you to anticipate your opponent's moves and react quickly with counterattacks, which you can do only 3 times per long rest. Moreover, you can use this ability to assess the injuries of your companions and accurately determine their severity.
Yoi no Miya[edit]
As a Kokushibou Slayer, you have mastered the art of the Moon Breathing technique, specifically the first form known as Yoi no Miya. When you unsheath your sword, you execute a wide and sweeping slash in a single motion, causing multiple crescent moons to materialize at the location of your strike. This unique effect repeats in all subsequent forms of the Moon Breathing technique. Increases die by 1 at levels 5º,9º,12º,17º e 20º
Crescent Slash: By channeling the essence of Yoi no Miya, you unleash a powerful attack that creates multiple crescent moon projectiles, cutting through your enemies with precision and extraordinary strength. Damage: 2d8 + Strength Modifier.
Lunar Resonance: Your connection to the moons allows you to resonate with their energy, granting you enhanced speed and agility, allowing you to maneuver swiftly across the battlefield and strike your enemies with unmatched grace. Additional Damage: +4d6 on melee attacks.
Celestial Mirage: Harnessing the mystical power of the moons, you can create illusions and mirages to confuse your opponents, making it difficult for them to discern your true position and intentions. Additional Damage: +4d4 on melee attacks.
Lunar Fortification: Utilizing the celestial forces of Yoi no Miya, you erect a protective barrier imbued with lunar energy, shielding you from harm and negating incoming attacks for a brief period. Duration: 1 minute. Temporary HP granted: 1d10 + Character Level.
Eclipse Surge: In moments of dire need, you can tap into the true potential of Yoi no Miya, temporarily transforming into an ethereal being bathed in moonlight. During this form, your attacks become even more devastating as the crescent moon projectiles gain incredible speed and power, wreaking havoc upon your enemies. Additional Damage: +2d8 on melee attacks.
Kokushibou Slayer Martial Arts[edit]
Level 1: Kokushibou Martial Arts Practice
At 1st level, your practice of martial arts gives you mastery of combat styles that use unarmed strikes.
You gain the following benefits while you are unarmed and you aren't wearing armor or wielding a shield:
- You can use Dexterity instead of Strength for the attack and damage rolls of your unarmed strikes.
- You can roll a d4 in place of the normal damage of your unarmed strike. This die changes as you gain Kokushibou Slayer levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Kokushibou Slayer table.
- When you use the Attack action with an unarmed strike, you can make one additional unarmed strike as a bonus action.
Shuka no Rogetsu[edit]
As a Kokushibou Slayer, you possess the ability to unleash the second form of the Lunar Breathing Style: Shuka no Rogetsu. This technique allows you to create a defensive barrier of crescent moons while simultaneously striking the air with multiple cuts.
With Shuka no Rogetsu, you can manifest a series of ethereal crescent moons that revolve around you, serving as a protective shield against close-range attacks. These moons possess a razor-sharp edge and can intercept and deflect incoming assaults, granting you enhanced defense.
While employing this technique, you can also launch these crescent moons towards your opponents, transforming the defensive barrier into an offensive barrage. These celestial projectiles carry the force of your strikes, slashing through obstacles and adversaries with incredible precision and power.
However, it's important to note that the usage of Shuka no Rogetsu consumes a significant amount of your spiritual energy, limiting its duration and frequency of use. The technique requires precise control and focus to harness the lunar energy and shape it into the defensive barrier and offensive onslaught.
Harness the power of Shuka no Rogetsu, the second form of the Lunar Breathing Style, and become a formidable Kokushibou Slayer capable of defending yourself from close-range attacks while overwhelming your foes with a barrage of crescent moons.
Lunar Agility[edit]
Starting at 2nd level, as a Kokushibou Slayer, your movement speed increases by 10 ft while not wearing armor or wielding a shield. This bonus increases as you progress through different Lunar Breath forms, as shown in the Lunar Breath table below.
Additionally, at 9th level, you gain the ability to move along vertical surfaces and across liquids on your turn without falling during the move.
Kokushibou Slayer Archetype[edit]
Starting at 3rd level, you choose an archetype. You can choose between the Lunar God and the Moon Killer. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level, and again at 6th, 11th, and 17th levels.
Ability Score Improvement[edit]
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can’t increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Extra Attack[edit]
Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
At 8th level you can attack three times.
At 12th level you can attack four times.
At 16th level you can attack five times.
Enkizuki - Tsugari[edit]
At 6th level, you gain the ability to perform the Enkizuki - Tsugari technique. With a swift motion, you swing your sword in two gigantic crescent arcs, unleashing a storm of smaller crescents that scatter, causing immense destruction in a small area.
When you use Enkizuki - Tsugari, make a melee weapon attack against all creatures within a 15-foot cone originating from you. On a hit, the target takes damage equal to your weapon's damage dice plus your Strength or Dexterity modifier. This damage is considered slashing damage.
In addition, each creature caught in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes additional damage equal to half your weapon's damage dice. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage.
Once you use this ability, you must finish a short or long rest before using it again.
Geppaku Saika[edit]
Starting at 7th level, you can tap into the power of the Fifth Form of the Lunar Breathing, emulating Kokushibou's prowess. As an action, you unleash a devastating technique known as Geppaku Saika. By performing a series of overlapping curved slashes, you create an ascending vortex of sword bars and crescent moon blades.
As an action, you unleash Geppaku Saika, tapping into the Fifth Form of the Lunar Breathing. Create a vortex of sword bars and crescent moon blades that ascends from your position. All creatures within a 30-foot cone originating from you must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, they suffer 4d8 slashing damage and 4d6 radiant damage. On a successful save, they take half as much damage. The damage increases to 6d8 slashing damage and 6d6 radiant damage at 11th level, and 8d8 slashing damage and 8d6 radiant damage at 15th level. Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. Additionally, while any of your Dragon Slayer features are active, you gain advantage on Intimidation checks, showcasing the fearsome power of the Kokushibou Slayer within you.
Evasion[edit]
At 7th level, your instinctive agility lets you dodge out of the way of certain area effects, such as a blue dragon's lightning breath or a fireball spell. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
Tokoyo Kogetsu – Muken[edit]
At 9th level, you unlock the ancient technique known as "Tokoyo Kogetsu – Muken," the sixth form of the Lunar Breath. Drawing power from the moon's ethereal glow, you unleash a barrage of crescent moon-shaped slashes in front of you, causing devastating damage to your foes.
Tokoyo Kogetsu – Muken: As an action, you enter a state of heightened focus, channeling the energy of the moon within you. All creatures within a 20-foot cone in front of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Kokushibou Slayer spell save DC.
On a failed save, a creature takes 6d8 slashing damage as the crescent moon slashes tear through their defenses.
On a successful save, the damage is halved.
You can use this ability once, and you must finish a long rest before using it again.
Additionally, at 6th level, your connection to the moon grants you advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks made during the night, as your senses are sharpened under the moon's gaze.
Yakkyo – Zukibae[edit]
Starting at 10th level, you gain the ability to perform the Seventh Form of Lunar Breathing: Moonlit Destruction. As an action, you swing your sword in a sweeping arc, creating a powerful wave of destruction that radiates outwards in multiple directions. The force generated by this attack is so immense that it leaves deep marks on the ground and devastates everything in its path.
As an action, make a melee weapon attack against all creatures within a 20-foot cone originating from you. Each creature in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, they take damage equal to your weapon damage dice + your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice). The damage type is slashing. The affected area becomes difficult terrain until the end of your next turn. You can use this ability once, and you regain the ability to use it again after finishing a long rest.
Kudaritsuki – Renmen[edit]
At 13th level, you gain the ability to unleash the seventh form of the Moon Breathing technique, Tokoyo Kogetsu – Muken. As an action, you can channel your ki to create a wave of devastating slashes in a 30-foot cone originating from you. Each creature in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, a target takes slashing damage equal to your proficiency bonus plus your Strength or Dexterity modifier (your choice). On a successful save, the damage is halved.
Additionally, whenever you use this ability, you can expend a use of your Kokushibou Slayer's Breath feature to enhance its effects. The damage dealt by Tokoyo Kogetsu – Muken increases by an additional 5d8 for each expended use of Kokushibou Slayer's Breath.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Kyohen – Tenman Sengetsu[edit]
Starting at 14th level, you gain access to the Fourteenth Form of the Lunar Breathing technique: Kyohen – Tenman Sengetsu. As an action, you swing your sword in a chaotic pattern, creating a vortex of multidirectional cuts that wreak havoc within its range.
To use this ability, make a melee weapon attack against each creature within a 20-foot cone originating from you. Each target must make a Dexterity saving throw or take damage. The damage can be determined by rolling the weapon's damage dice and adding your Strength or Dexterity modifier, whichever is applicable, as well as any additional bonuses you may have.
Additionally, any objects or structures within the area of effect also take damage equal to half the amount rolled (rounded down) unless they succeed on a Dexterity saving throw.
Once you use this ability, you must finish a short or long rest before using it again.
Senmenzan – Ragetsu[edit]
At 15th level, you gain the ability to channel the eleventh form of Kokushibou's Lunar Breathing, Senmenzan – Ragetsu. As an action, you create a long-range twister consisting of three layers filled with crescent moon blades. The twister extends outward from you in a cone shape, reaching a distance determined by the range of your weapon attack. The twister's size is colossal, matching the scale of Kokushibou's gigantic sword.
Any creature within the area of the twister must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d10 slashing damage from the moon blades and is pushed 10 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and isn't pushed.
Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Additionally, at 15th level, your Mana sustains you, granting you immunity to the effects of aging magic. You no longer suffer from the frailty of old age, but you can still die of natural causes. Furthermore, you no longer require food or water to sustain yourself.
Gekko – Katawarezuki[edit]
Beginning at 18th, you have mastered the ultimate technique of the Kokushibou Slayer, the "Gekko – Katawarezukiu." With this powerful ability, you channel the essence of the moon's crescent shape into your attacks, creating a multitude of crescent cuts directed towards the ground. This results in six devastating strikes simultaneously descending upon your opponents.
When you use this technique, make a melee attack against all creatures within a 30-foot cone originating from you. Each creature hit by this attack takes damage as if struck by a magical weapon. Additionally, each strike has enough force to create a small crater at the impact point.
The damage for each strike is equal to your weapon damage dice plus your Strength or Dexterity modifier, whichever you use for attack and damage rolls. All damage dealt with "Gekko – Katawarezukiu" is considered magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances and immunities.
You can use "Gekko – Katawarezukiu" a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Kōgetsu no Jūnana Kata[edit]
At 20th level, you have mastered the advanced technique known as the "Seventeenth Form of the Crescent Moon Breathing." This technique allows you to unleash a devastating attack that transcends the limits of your previous forms.
As an action, you can activate the Kōgetsu no Jūnana Kata. When you do so, you emit an intense lunar aura, and a succession of seventeen crescent-shaped slashes manifest simultaneously around you, directed in all directions. Each of these slashes possesses tremendous destructive force, capable of creating large craters in their path.
Make a melee spell attack against each creature within a 30-foot radius of you. On a hit, the target takes 20d10 slashing damage and must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target is knocked prone and takes an additional 10d10 force damage. On a successful save, the target takes half damage and isn't knocked prone.
Additionally, when the crescent slashes come into contact with the ground, they create devastating shockwaves that spread through the surrounding area. Each creature within a 60-foot radius of you must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 8d10 force damage and be pushed 20 feet away from you. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and isn't pushed.
Once you use this ability, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Kokushibou Slayer Archetype[edit]

At 3rd level, you have learned to draw upon the lunar energy to enhance your defensive capabilities. As a bonus action, you can expend a Lunar Charge to gain the following benefits for one minute:
Your AC increases by 2.
You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
You gain advantage on Dexterity and Constitution saving throws.

You gain resistance to these damage types, and your melee weapon attacks deal additional damage of the chosen types equal to half your Kokushibou Slayer level.
You can also channel the chosen damage types into your Secret Art techniques, adding an extra damage die. Upon reaching 14th level, the resistance of other creatures against the chosen damage types is treated as if they had resistance instead of immunity.
As an action, you can expend 4 Lunar Charges to envelop yourself in lunar energy for 1 minute. During this time, your melee weapon attacks deal an additional Martial Arts die of damage, and you have advantage on saving throws against spells.
- Royal Ascendancy

Your melee weapon attacks deal additional radiant damage equal to your Kokushibou Slayer level.
You are immune to being charmed or frightened.
You have advantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws.
Additionally, other creatures have disadvantage on attack rolls against you.
Please note that the specific mechanics and damage values can be adjusted to fit the balance of your game.
Moon Slayer[edit]
As you tap into your inner power, your body undergoes a transformation that reflects the essence of the Moon. Harnessing this power, you become a fearsome warrior known as a Moon Slayer.
- Lunar Strikes
At 3rd level, when you choose this archetype, your strikes become infused with the power of the Moon. Your weapon attacks, including unarmed strikes, deal an additional 1d6 radiant damage. This damage increases to 2d6 at 5th level, 3d6 at 10th level, and 4d6 at 14th level.
- Lunar Shield
At 3rd level, as a bonus action, you can invoke the lunar energy to create an ethereal shield around your body. This shield grants you the following benefits:
