Kalak, the betrayer. Diopsid had ventured outside the tunnels, onto the surface, into underground worlds, but none ever lead outsiders back to the tunnels. They wouldn't turn away explorers and would collapse known tunnels if the outsider seemed hostile. Kalak however thought this was a silly practice, he lead his brood out of the tunnels and directly into a unsuspecting nearby Drow city. Kalak entered the city with his brood and attempted to begin trade when the Drow sprang upon them, enslaving half and killing the rest. Kalak was forced to tell the Drow where this strong slave stock was breeding, over time Kalak not only told the Drow about the tunnels, he began leading incursions, killing Diopsid, stealing for the drow. His divine spark came from Lolth, who offered it to him if he would continue to plague the Diopsid in the afterlife, however he would not be allowed in their divine realm so from the Plane of Fire the betrayer wages a war.
Dogma[edit]
The fair ones have wisdom beyond us, outsiders know things we could never know. Diopsid are cattle, we must rise up and become the equals of the outsiders if we are ever to survive. The tunnels make us weak, burn them.
Clergy and Temples[edit]
Nearly every evil Diopsid worships Kalak, even some Drow worship him. While many are drawn to him for different reasons the main cause seems to be a self loathing streak the Diopsid have, the feel perhaps Kalak could lead them to inner confidence. His shrines are always hidden, he has no official temple in Diopsid lands. In Drow areas followers of Lolth claim Kalak is Lolth's latest conquest and proof of her greatness, followers of Kalak spread this rumor too out of obligation.
Appearance[edit]
Kalak is a towering ten foot Diopsid with fiery red highlights, his eyes are flaming orbs instead of the normal eye-stalks. His great axe is the same as Dipsodia's, they are sister weapons that only the two know the properties of and never speak about.
