Class Features[edit]

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An Ivalice Dancer is proficient with light armor and gains proficiency with ceremonial weapons such as Scarves, Fans, and Bracers. She is also proficient in Longsword, Rapier, Katana, and Scimitar. She is not, however, able to use shields of any kind.

Provocative: The Ivalice Dancer gains her CHA bonus to AC, as long as she is unarmored and not encumbered by a heavy load. At 5th level the bonus to AC increases to CHA mod and a half, and CHA mod 2x at 10th level.

Spells: An Ivalice Dancer draws her spells from the Bard spell list. Unlike the Bard, an Ivalice Dancer has restrictions on what spells she may learn due to alignment, but may only know one of each cure or inflict spell (meaning you cant have cure light wounds AND inflict light wounds, you must take one or the other). To know or to cast a spell, she must have a CHA mod equal to 10 + the spells level. The number of spells she knows for each level of spell is 1/2 spells per day, +2.

Dancing: A Ivalice Dancer has the ability to curse or debilitate her foes with a variety of dances. To resist the effects of her dances, the opponent must succeed a WILL save DC (10 + the Ivalice Dancer's level + the Ivalice Dancer's CHA mod) or be affected as normal. At 1st level and every 3rd level afterwards, the Ivalice Dancer learns certain dances. Dancing requires a movement action and provokes attacks of opportunity. An Ivalice Dancer may "Dance Defensively" by making a Perform (Dance) check DC (15 + (Ivalice Dancer level the dance is learned)). Each Dance may only be performed once per round.

Dancer's Knowledge: A Ivalice Dancer may use "Bardic Knowledge" as a Bard of her Dancer Level.

Mincing Minuet: At 1st level, the Ivalice Dancer learns this dance. With quick, speedy steps, the Ivalice Dancer strikes her opponent without skipping a beat. Makes (melee) attack as a ranged touch attack (10ft +5ft/6 levels), at a +4 to the attack roll. Usable a number of times per day equal to the Dancer's CHA mod +1.

Polka: At 1st level, the Ivalice Dancer learns this dance. The Ivalice Dancer shouts a battle cry while dancing, rattling her foes prowess. Target within 25ft gets a -2 penalty to attack and damage rolls, and half penalty to targets within 5ft the first (FOR negates, +2 to FOR save to targets on end of the burst) This increases to a -4 at 5th level, a -6 at 10th level, a -8 at 15th level, and a -10 at 20th level. Effect cannot stack. Usable a number of times per day equal to the Dancer's CHA mod +1.

Weapon Finesse: At 1st level, the Ivalice Dancer gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat. If she already has obtained this feat, she may choose another feat that she qualifies for.

Special Dance: At 2nd level, the Ivalice Dancer has gained the ability to magically enchant her dance steps. Whenever the Dancer begins to dance, a 5ft magical aura permeates from her feet. Allies within 5ft of the aura, or allies that pass through the aura gain a +2 enhancement bonus to STR, DEX, CON until her next turn.

Rallying Strike: At 2nd level, as long as the Ivalice Dancer remains within 10ft of an ally, she may make a 5ft step and attack an enemy they hit, at a -2 penalty.

Blade Dance: At 4th level, the Ivalice Dancer learns this dance. The Ivalice Dancer spins viciously, striking her foe with a maelstrom of slashes. When making a full-attack, the Dancer can make an extra attack at her highest BAB, but suffers a stacking -2 penalty. She must be wielding some kind of bladed weapon in order to perform this dance. She can make a second extra attack at 8th level, and a third extra attack at 12th. Usable a number of times per day equal to the Dancer's CHA mod. The penalty to attack rolls decreases by 2 at 6th level.

Combat Reflexes: At 4th level, the Ivalice Dancer learns combat reflexes as a bonus feat. If she has already obtained this feat, she may choose another feat that she qualifies for instead.

Magical Dancing: At 6th level, the Dancer has gained the ability to cast spells through dance. The Dancer, once per day, may cast a spell and dance at the same time. However, when performing this special feat, she may only cast spells up to one level lower then the highest level of spells she knows and can cast, and it must be a spell that requires only a standard action.

Forbidden Dance: At 7th level, the Ivalice Dance learns this dance. By dancing a strange tribal dance, she may inflict up to four (1d4) of these effects to a target within 35ft; sleep, poison, stunned, dazzled, blind, inflamed, paralyze, panic, charm, confuse, zombie or doom (Separate FOR save negates for each debuff) effect(s) lasts 1d4 rounds. Usable once per day at 7th level, twice at 9th, three times at 10th, and four times at 11th level with a chance of inflicting 1d6 of debuffs.

Improved Critical: At 7th level, the Ivalice Dancer gains Improved Critical as a bonus feat. If she has already acquired this feat, she may choose another one that she qualifies for

Sword Dancer: At 8th level, the Ivalice Dancer gains a +5 to her reach while wielding a longsword, rapier, katana, cutlass, or scimitar because of her long, dramatic steps.

Quickstep: At 9th level, the Ivalice Dancer has become an adept at quick, graceful, movements. She may now dance two dances per turn, as one move action.

One target (20ft) at 10th, two targets (25 ft) at 12th, and three targets (30ft) at 14th. The effects cannot stack multiple times, and does not stack with spells that cause slowness. Usable a number of times per day equal to the Dancer's CHA mod

Foxtrot: At 12th level, the Ivalice Dancer has become graced with god-like speed. The Dancer gains a second move action, at 1/2 speed. If she is armored or carries a heavy load, this effect cannot apply.

Jitterbug: At 13th level, the Dancer learns this dance. By spinning and flitting energetically around her chosen target, she drains the residual life force from them. Makes magic attack and drains 1/2 the damage done to them as HP. Usable a number of times per day equal to the Dancer's CHA mod -1.

Parry: At 13th level, the Ivalice Dancer gains Parry as a bonus feat. If she already has gained this feat, she may choose another feat (including fighter feats) she qualifies for

Heathen Frolic: At 15th level, the Ivalice dancer learns this dance. By swaying etherally while singing a spiritual, she cause her target to become less focused. Deals her CHA mod as ability damage to an ability score of her choice to target creature within 30ft of her. This cannot cause a creatures ability scores to drop below 5, and only stacks once. WILL save negates. Usable a number of times per day equal to the Dancer's CHA mod -1.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing an Ivalice Dancer[edit]

Religion: Ivalice Dancer's commonly worship deities that hold dance and other art forms in high regard, but they do not put much stock in faith of the divine.

Other Classes: This path of training is usually revered by most due to the level of determination it requires. However, there are also few that see Ivalice Dancer's as harems and granters of indelicate favor.

Combat: Their greatest role is as a debuffer. They can quickly destroy enemies morale, as well as they can destroy their combat prowess. They also make excellent fighters when they are in top form.

Advancement: Make for good multiclass Rogues, Monks, or Clerics. Possibly even fighter for the combat feats and better HD.

Ivalice Dancers' in the World[edit]

Let me show you the power that elegance can birth!
—Penelo, Human, Ivalice Dancer

Ivalice Dancer's are commonly happened upon by interested parties. Be it a king looking for a nightly entertainer, a bar owner looking for a girl in need of work, or a young maiden looking to follow the path herself. They are far and few between however, as their ancient art was supposedly lost long ago.

Daily Life: Ivalice Dancer's spend their lives as entertainers. They go from city to city displaying their talents in trade for gold and silver. Sometimes they find themselves being hired by local folk to help militiaman fight, or even by local doctors to help tend to the sick and needy.

Notables: Penelo the Gentle was a powerful Ivalice Dancer who showed great grace in her art, as well as compassion deeper then darkest of oceans. She died bringing a smile to many peoples faces, as well as joy and hope in their hearts.

Organizations: They don't. Due to their nomadic nature, Ivalice Dancers' normally travel alone or with a small troupe, and rarely stay in one town or city for too long.

NPC Reactions: Most people enjoy the coming of an Ivalice Dancer, as it means that they will be able to gaze upon their gorgeous and mystical steps. They can howeve, be shunned by certain societies due to their "provocative" nature of dance and movement.

Ivalice Dancer Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge (Local, Lore, and Arcana) can research Ivalice Dancers' to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Knowledge (Local), Knowledge (Lore), or Knowledge (Arcana)
DC Result
5 They are skilled in the art of dancing, and commonly have training in the ways of martial arts.
10 Their dances are magical in nature, and they have access to restorative magics.
15 They can cause great pain to others by simply saying a phrase when swaying their feet.
20 They are an ancient teaching long lost to usual martial artists and spell-casters. Their dances are so brutal, that they can diminish ones strength, and even cause confusion, blindness, charm....and even death.
