Insectoids are an alien species that share some traits with terran insects. They communicate with a clicking dialect and have exotic sense organs.

Appearance: They have compound eyes, antennae, chitin, are cold bloodied and lay eggs. They may also have vestigial wings or limbs.

Insectoid Traits
Ability: Dexterity
Power Source: Bio; +2 to Bio overcharge.
Skill Bonus (Level 1): Gain a +4 bonus to Perception checks.
Hive Mind (Level 1): Gain a +2 bonus to Will.
Inscrutable (Level 1): Gain Resist psychic 10.
Extraterrestrial (Level 1): You are considered to be an extraterrestrial for the purpose of effects related to creature origin.
Insectoid Critical (Level 2 or 6): When you score a critical hit, the attack deals 1d10 extra damage and you fly a number of squares equal to half your speed.


Piercing Mandible Insectoid Novice
Your mouth sports a handsome pair of stabbing, chewing mandibles. When you bite, you also inject a neurotoxin.

Target: One creature
Attack: Dexterity + your level vs. Fortitude
Hit: 2d6 + Dexterity modifier + twice your level toxic damage and the target is weakened until the end of your next turn.



Lay Eggs Insectoid Utility
Now you have reached maturity you create offspring asexually, but your progeny has a low survival rate. As such, you are continually producing eggs. These eggs can spray a neurotoxin as a defense mechanism.

Effect: An empty square adjacent to you now contains a cluster of eggs. Any creature except you that moves into a square adjacent to the eggs is slowed (save ends). If a creature enters the square, the eggs are destroyed and the creature takes 10 toxic damage.

Your wings are fully developed now.

Trigger: A melee attack hits you.
Target: The creature that hit you.
Attack: Dexterity + your level vs. Fortitude
Hit: 3d6 + Dexterity modifier + twice your level compressive damage. You knock the target prone.
Effect: You fly your speed.
