In the dead of night, in dimly lit forests, the fiery glow of the inferno owlbears is the last thing many ever see. Once, these were ordinary owlbears, though they have been changed by elemental magic. Their feathers are brilliant and fiery, seen in many variations of red, orange and yellow, though some rare individuals are blue or white.
Inferno owlbears are especially active during forest fires, as prey scurries all about to escape the flames. The owlbears do not fear fire and are unharmed by it, taking advantage of the chaos to feast. Some owlbears start small fires for this reason.
