Looking like a rock with legs, a small turtle like creature waddles across the floor. It has no head, and vents in its shell release a gentle mist.
Humidifier Homunculi are creatures created by the spell Ell's Handy Homunculus. They are found in very dry or very damp places as humidity control, dampening or drying the surroundings as requested. They work well in historical places and other areas where the items are sensitive to the atmosphere. Humidifiers are usually calm, slow, and gentle.
While generally constructs are neutral, a homunculi picks up the alignment of its creator on casting.
Combat[edit]
Handy homunculi make poor weapons. The humidifier lacks a good offense, but can release a steam cloud and burrow to safety, as his powers to not lend themselves well to offense of defense.
- Steam Cloud (Ex)
A humidifier can release a cloud of steam which provides 20% concealment in a 5 ft. cube for 1 round. This is usually used as a defense to escape, and may be done 1/day.
- Humidity Control (Su)
A humidifier can adjust the dampness or dryness of an object, identical to the power offered by prestidigitation. In addition, it is always collecting water from the atmosphere and surroundings. In any day which it has dried three or more things, it will have collected enough water in it to sustain a single person for 1 day. The shell can drain its watery reserves, which is as clean as rainwater. As such, some use their homunculi as living canteens.
Construction[edit]
The body is made of stone and clay, with the core crystal often embedded in the bottom of the shell. A drop of the caster's blood is mixed in with the clay and stone plating, which solifies it all on casting Ell's Handy Homunculus. The entire cost of supplies equals 500 gp.
Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (pottery) or Craft (stonework) check.
CL 1st; Ell's Handy Homunculus, Prestidigitation; Never sold; Cost 500 gp + 25 XP.
