Determined Human[edit]

An alternative to the arguably boring DnD5e Human that gives human the indominable human spirit while still attempting to make it balanced and interesting

The following traits replace the standard human traits.

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 1 and an ability score of your choice increases by 1.
Age. Humans reach adulthood in their late teens and live less than a century.
Alignment. Humans tend toward no particular alignment. The best and the worst are found among them.
Size. Humans vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Indominable Spirit. Upon reaching 0 hit points you may choose to not go unconscious and do death saving throws and enter a "last stand" state, in this state you have disadvantage on all rolls, and attacks against you have advantage. when in "last stand" your hit points can become negative, down to your maximum health negative, upon reaching negative your maximum health in hit points you die. You can stay in "last stand" for a number of rounds equal to your Proficiency Bonus, upon which you go unconscious and do death saving throws like normal. You can use this ability once per long rest.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and two other languages of your choice.
