Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Herald fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Magic Resistance. The Herald has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Star Power. The Herald deals an additional 13 (2d12) psychic damage when he hits a creature with a melee attack (included in the attack).

Hadar's Blessing. When the Herald starts his turn with 100 hit points he regains the highest spell slot consumed and he gains an additional attack to its Multiattack (6 in total).

Spellcasting. The Herald is a 20th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 26, +18 to hit with spell attacks). He knows the following sorcerer spells:

Cantrips (at will): eldritch blast, light, mage hand
1st level (4 slots): arms of Hadar, detect magic, hex, shield
2nd level (3 slots): darkness, hold person, misty step, see invisibility
3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, daylight, dispel magic, hunger of Hadar
4th level (3 slots): banishment, dimension door
5th level (3 slots): dominate person, hold monster, synaptic static
6th level (2 slots): globe of invulnerability, mass suggestion
7th level (2 slots): forcecage
8th level (1 slot): power word stun
9th level (1 slot): psychic scream

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The Herald makes five attacks with his greatsword. In place of three attacks, he can cast a spell.

+3 Greatsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +22 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (2d6 + 13) slashing damage plus 13 (2d12) psychic damage.


LEGENDARY ACTIONS

Herald can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Herald regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Attack. The Herald makes one greatsword attack.
Cast a Spell (Costs 2 Actions). The Herald casts a spell from his Spellcasting feature, expending a spell slot as normal.

The Herald of Hadar is a follower of the Great Old One named Hadar. He provides his patron with souls from sacrificed souls in exchange for power. Hadar is a dying star that needs souls in order to keep living, so it uses the Herald to maintain its life force.
