Heavenly Demonic Arts User (5e Class)
Heavenly Demonic Arts User[edit]
This secret martial arts technique is taught by members of the Heavenly Demonic Cult, and can only be mastered by great and ruthless warriors. This martial art rely on the cultivation of Qi to produce supernatural effects. Users of the Heavenly Demonic Arts learn to harness Qi to produce a demonic aura that grants them power over a earthly domain, an area in which their power is absolute.
They can also use the Qi to fuel powerful and destructive techniques that either enhance their melee combat abilities or use raw Qi energy to destroy their opponents.
Prerequisites[edit]
To qualify for multiclassing into the Heavenly Demonic Arts User class, you must meet these prerequisites:
- Strength or Dexterity 13, Wisdom 13. You need to be top physical shape and have enough insight and mindfulness to master these techniques.
- Proficiency in the Religion or Medicine skill. You must learn techniques through meditation and harnessing of Qi.
- Access to the Extra Attack feature. Only skilled warriors can thread the path of the Heavenly Demonic Arts User.
- Complete a special task. You must find a master in this style of fighting who is willing to teach you. Alternatively, you can find secret scrolls or texts that teach this style.
Class Features[edit]
As a Heavenly Demonic Arts User you gain the following class features.

Unarmored Defense[edit]
Beginning at 1st level, while wearing no armor, your AC equals 10 + your Strength modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
Qi Gong[edit]
Beginning at the second level, you can store and manipulate enough Qi to use. Your access to this energy is represented by a number of Qi Threads. You have a number of Qi Threads determined by your Heavenly Demonic Arts User level, as shown in the Qi Threads column. If you use all your Qi, you recover them after a short or a long rest.
Some Qi features require a save to avoid its effects. The save DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.
- Ex-Monks Heavenly Demonic Arts Users
Monks that thread this path can use Qi Threads or Ki points interchangeably to fuel either their ki features or their Qi features.
Earthly Domain[edit]
At 1st level, you have progressed on your path to heaven far enough that you begin to bend the world to suit your whims. As long as you are conscious, have Qi Threads left, and are not wearing heavy armor, you have an aura of earthly domain active. The aura radius is 10 feet, but increases as you gain levels in this class, as shown in the Heavenly Demonic Arts User table, on the Earthly Domain Radius column.
Your aura grants benefits, that grow stronger as you gain levels in this class, as shown below. You must have the level listed in parenthesis in the Heavenly Demonic Arts User in order to gain the correlated benefit.
- Demonic Speed
While your aura is active, any creature of your choice that starts its turn within this aura have additional 10 feet of movement until the end of their turn.
- Demonic Slowness (2nd level)
While your aura is active, any creature of your choice that starts its turn within your domain have their movement speed reduced by 10 feet until the end of their turn.
- Demonic Parry (4th level)
When a creature hits you with an attack while inside your domain , you can reduce the damage of that attack to 0. Once you do so, you can't do it again until you finish a short or a long rest.
- Demonic Sight (5th level)
You gain blindsight covering everything inside your domain radius.
- Demonic Might (6th level)
You cause additional damage to creatures within your domain equal to half your Heavenly Demonic Arts user level.
- Demonic Speed (8th level)
Whenever a hostile creature enter your domain, you can make an opportunity attack against it.
- Demonic Destruction (10th level)
Whenever a hostile creature end its turn within your aura, it must succeed on a Constitution saving throw, or take force damage equal to your Heavenly Demonic Arts User level.
Ability Score Improvement[edit]
When you reach 3rd level, and again at 7th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Heavenly Demon Sword Art[edit]
At 9th level, your melee weapon attacks have reach equal to your domain radius as long as your aura is active. In addition, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 Qi Thread to cause additional damage equal to your Heavenly Demonic Arts user level to that creature.
Finally, whenever you make an opportunity attack, you can attack twice instead of once.
Destruction Arts[edit]
At 10th level, you become a master on your style, learning two techniques of pure destruction: the Demonic and Heavenly Destruction Arts.
- Demonic Destruction Art
At the start of your turn you may spend 10 Qi Threads as an Action, forcing all creatures of your choice within your domain to make a Strength saving throw or fall to the ground and become prone and have its movement speed reduced to 0, taking force damage equal to your Heavenly Demonic Arts User level.
All flying and prone creatures make the Saving Throw at Disadvantage. If the creature is already prone and fails the Saving Throw, they take force damage equal to twice your Heavenly Demonic Arts User level. A creature who fails the save can use an Action to make another saving throw in each turn, ending the effect on a success. The creature takes the force damage again after each failure.
Additionally, whenever a creature outside your domain makes an attack against a creature inside the domain, you can spend 1 Qi Thread and use your reaction to reduce the damage of that attack by 1d10 + your Wisdom modifier + your Heavenly Demonic Arts User level.
- Heavenly Destruction Art
As an action you can spend up to your maximum Qi Threads to make one melee attack against a creature within your domain per Qi spent. These attacks can be made against the same or multiple targets.
