The Hawk Boomerang is an odd boomerang from Vonaisu, used by the natives to hunt and for sport. The Hawk Boomerang, or "Soklylie", is a sharply curved (125°), smooth stick, about half a meter from end to end. On each end of the boomerang is a four to five inch Ironwood chain with Aisehawk feathers attached along one side. The chain flares out when the boomerang is in flight, rotating so that the feathers are "following" the chain. This adds stability and control to the flight in the hands of an experienced thrower, while slowing the flight down a small amount. The real benefit of the feather-chains is that they are easily enchanted by Vonaisen shamans. So easily in fact, that the enchantment requires little to no talent to enact, making the enchantment ubiquitous on Soklylie. The enchantment causes the boomerang to, in the hands of someone proficient with it, return to the owner on a miss. The Soklylie can also be used as a club without damaging the feather-chains, as they are designed to withstand impacts and cuts.
