Hatchlings are tiny insects which dwell in deep caverns and dark forests. Their exoskeletons are soft and orange, and emit a dull glowing light which pulses slowly. Their most distinctive feature is probably the hard, bony shell which covers their heads and resembles a horned mask. Hatchlings are weak and slow, which makes them easy prey for a variety of other creatures. Hatchlings generally survive off of smaller insects, and even moss and lichen on occasion.
