Half-Trolls are the unfortunate spawns of humans and trolls. Often grossly disfigured these monstrous humanoids tend to live far away from either of their parent races, as neither can stand various qualities that the half-troll possess. Too foul and mean for humans to bear, and not nearly cruel or evil enough to dwell with trolls. Most often these creatures spend thier forlorn lives alone, but on the rare occasion one finds beings that are willing to live with them and they can, at least for a short time, find companionship.
Play a Half-Troll if you want...
- To be a member of a race that is universally despised by all good creatures.
- To be a large hideous creature that feeds on nearly anything it can.
- To be a creature that regenerates damage almost as soon as it takes it.
- To be a member of a race that favours the Barbarian, Fighter, and Warden classes.
Physical Qualities
Half-Trolls walk upright but hunched forward with sagging shoulders. Their gait is uneven, and when they run, their arms dangle and drag along the ground. For all this seeming awkwardness, half-trolls can be quite agile. A typical adult half-troll stands around 7 feet tall and weighs about 400 pounds. Females are slightly larger than males. A half-troll’s rubbery hide is moss green, mottled green and gray, or putrid gray. The hair is usually greenish black or iron gray.
Playing a Half-Troll
Half-Trolls are vicious creatures, that find it hard to make friends with non-trolls, as they most often cannot abide their cruel natures. Half-Trolls are driven by a near endless hunger and they will eat anything from animals to insects. If not fighting something they are most often chewing on one thing or another. Half-Trolls have very short tempers and anger with little to no provocation. Because of this they are hated and feared by nearly every good or unaligned race. Half-Trolls can find it hard to be in non-evil settlements as the locals will eventually tire of the monster and rally against it, even if it is just to drive it from town. While half-trolls can swim they dislike water, and will never willingly bathe if they can avoid it. Their intense foul odor can make most creatures physically ill if they spend too much time around them, although those that spend enough time with them will grow accustomed to the stink. Even then the smell will many times become unbearable. Bad half-troll hygiene goes beyond just not bathing, they have no concept of latrines and freely foul places with their urine and feces that others would never think of doing. Half-Trolls tend be be disgusting creatures, that are mean and temperamental. Half-Trolls do not delineate the use of particular names for each gender, therefore any name may be given to a male or female without consideration for thier sex.

Half-Troll Adventurers
Three sample half-troll adventurers are described below.
Curborn is a half-troll barbarian. Raised by a tribe of feral trolls in the high mountains, he has always had to work harder at performing the tasks expected of him then the other trolls. As the years have passed he finds himself growing ever disgusted by much of thier behavior. Knowing that if his "weakness" is discovered he would be slain, Curborn has decided to flee his people and find out if somewhere others may accept him without asking for so much of his soul.
Mange is a half-troll fighter. For his entire life Mange has severed as a shock trooper in Overlord Sithicant's army. His parentage is unknown to him and those around him have always treated him as little better then a trained animal. Then, during a raid on a disloyal village, Mange was ordered to destroy an orphanage and slay all the children inside. When he refused, saying such an act was below him, his keeper beat him and ordered others to perform the task. Driven into a rage Mange killed his keeper and the other warriors in his unit, once done he knew he could not return to his old life and so he fled. Now he seeks out a life that will let him use his skills with honor.
Boneblighter is a half-troll warden. Abandoned by her human mother while still a newborn she would have perished if it had not been for her abnormal constitution and the care of a dryad that took pity on her. She has spent her life living among the trees and animals of a deep primal forest, learning of the beauty and balance of nature. Now an evil force is bearing down on the defenseless villagers that live in harmony with the forest at its edge. Unwilling to see them come to harm Boneblighter plans to aid the small group of heroes that have formed to stand against the evil.
