Half-Hobgoblins (3.5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Half-Hobgoblins[edit]
There have been cases in which humans and hobgoblins have interbred. The result of this union are called half-hobgoblins by humans, and half-humans by hobgoblins.
Personality[edit]
Half-hobgoblins have the ambition, curiosity, and adaptability of their human parents and the stealth and disciple of their hobgoblin parents.
Physical Description[edit]
Half-hobgoblins look like humans with hobgoblin traits, such as orangeish skin, yellow eyes, and enlarged canines jutting out from their lower jaw. Half-hobgoblins generally stand in between 5 and 6 feet tall, and normally weigh somewhere in between 150 and 240 pounds. Although most half-hobgoblins have one hobgoblin parent and one human parent, there are those who are the children of two half-hobgoblins, often known as second generation half-hobgoblins.
Relations[edit]
Dwarves and elves generally do not get along with half-hobgoblins due to the fact that goblinoids are their sworn enemies. Halfings, gnomes, and many humans aren't on good terms with half-hobgoblins either. Half-hobgoblins and half-orcs tend to relate to each other since they are both half-breeds that are generally mistrusted.
Alignment[edit]
Half-hobgoblins have a tenancy towards Law because of their hobgoblin parents, but their attitude towards good and evil varies, just like their human parents.
Lands[edit]
Half-hobgoblins tend to inhabit hobgoblin lands or lands that have a mixed population of humans and hobgoblins. Humans are also the most likely to accept half-hobgoblins, so a significant population of half-hobgoblins live in human lands. There have also been cases of half-hobgoblins establishing their own lands as well.
Religion[edit]
Like most goblinoids, many half-hobgoblins revere Maglubiyet, the chief deity of goblins and hobgoblins. While Maglubiyet is evil, half-hobgoblin fighters and warriors may worship him as a war god even if they are not evil. Half-hobgoblins who wish to establish their connection to humanity worship human deities instead. There are also a rare number of cases where half-hobgoblins establish their own gods and goddesses.
Language[edit]
Half-hobgoblins speak both Common and Goblin, though they may come up with their own dialects and vernacular.
Names[edit]
Half-hobgoblins tend to have either goblin or human names, depending on where they live.
