Gun-Fu Warrior[edit]

A mystic warrior who focuses his energy into becoming a deadly marksman

Background[edit]

At the nexus of ancient and modern, science and mysticism stands the Gun-Fu Warrior. By taking the ancient art of kyudo, the zen archery style of Japan, and combining it with contemporary firearms techniques he becomes a dervish of death on the battlefield. Guns Akimbo[edit]

At 1st level the character treats pistols as 'light weapons' for the purposes of two-weapon fighting (-2 to attack for each weapon)

Dead Eye Shot[edit]

Gun-Fu Warriors are so highly trained in precision shooting that beginning at 2nd level the critical threat range for their pistols increases by 1 (ie. from 20 to 19-20). At 7th level it increases by an additional 1 (ie. to 18-20)

CQC[edit]

Beginning at 3rd level, the Gun-Fu Master learns how to fully utilize his firearms while in melee combat and no longer provokes attacks of opportunity by firing pistols in another's threatened range. As well, his damage for pistol whips increases by one die type (ie. from 1d4 to 1d6)

Bonus Feat[edit]

At 3rd, 6th and 9th levels the Gun-Fu Warrior gains a bonus feat from the following list:
Combat Reflexes, Dead Aim, Defensive Martial Arts, Double Tap, Elusive Target, Far Shot, Focused, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Quick Draw, Quick Reload, Skip Shot

Zen Bullet[edit]

Beginning at 4th level, the Gun-Fu warrior is so attuned to his guns and centred that he may add his Wisdom modifier to his attack rolls with pistols.

Gun Kata[edit]

At 5th level, the Gun-Fu Warrior has mastered the Gun Katas, a set of stances and maneuvers to maximize his effectiveness in combat. Each of the stances may be initiated as a free action. Only one stance may be used at a time and may only be changed at the start of a combat round.

Offensive: While in the offensive stance, the Gun-Fu Warrior may add his wisdom modifier to any ranged attack damage.

Defensive: While in the defensive stance, the Gun-Fu Warrior adds his wisdom modifier to his armor class and is never flatfooted.

Moving Target While in the moving target stance, the Gun-Fu Warrior is considered to have the Mobility and Shot on the Run feats. If he has the Mobility feat already he gains an additional +2 Dodge bonus. If he has Shot on the Run already he gains an additional 10' of movement per round.

Gunslinger[edit]

At 8th level the Gun-Fu Warrior's mastery of firearms has reached such a level of mastery that the damage die for his pistols increases by one (ie. from d6 to d8, 2d4 to 2d6) and the range increment of his pistols increases by 50% (ie. from 40' to 60')

Way of the Gun[edit]

When the Gun-Fu Warrior reaches the pinnacle of mastery of this form of pistol combat he becomes able to sense and target enemies all around him, even in total darkness. He gains blindsight to a range of 15'.
