A guitar is like a lute with curved-in sides. A masterwork guitar provide a +2 circumstance bonus on Perform checks involving its use. A character with a legendary guitar, at least 4 ranks in Perform (stringed instruments) and the Bardic Music ability can create special effects with it. A character with 4 ranks gains a +1 extra bonus to Inspire Courage. A character with 8 ranks grants an additional +2 to Inspire Competence. A character with 12 ranks can create a heroism effect, as the spell. Guitars are favored by elves and gnomes.
