Grove Lord (4e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
A Grove Lord is a creature from the Feywild that for reasons entirely their own, have taken up a position in the mortal plane. Sometimes they are mere observers, but they are fiercely protective of their groves, and do not tolerate intrusion.

Grove Lord Tactics[edit]
The Grove Lord prefers not to engage in combat, but when pressed, will call upon woodland allies or its own thorn-spawn. It will then hold back from the conflict, attempting to inflict the most damage possible from range, and use its powers to better position and heal its allies.
Grove Lord Lore[edit]
A character knows the following information with a successful Nature check.
DC 15: A Grove Lord will take up residence in a specific woodland area and ally itself with the local wildlife, forming empathic bonds and calling upon the creatures in its defense.
DC 25: A Grove Lord creates fey offspring called thorn-spawn. These creatures are at first drone-like, but with a decade or so of experience, they mature into autonomous beings. Whether they will eventually mature into new Grove Lords is debated amongst scholars.
Encounter Groups[edit]
A Grove Lord is often encountered with a horde of woodland creatures under its thrall. In such encounters, the Grove Lord prefers to hold back and allow its minions to absorb the brunt of its enemies attacks, using healing powers to extend their usefulness and only joining battle when necessary.
