Great Weapon Dancer (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Great Weapon Dancer[edit]
Fighter Subclass
Most think of greatswords and other two-handed weapons as awkward and clunky. The Great Weapon Dancers beg to differ. These warriors use the weight of their weapons to their advantage, letting themselves be carried by the momentum of the strikes, in a seemingly uncontrolled manner, that hides great technique and precision.
- Great Weapon's Finesse
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you can use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier for attack and damage rolls with two-handed melee weapons. You must use the same ability for both rolls.
In addition, you ignore the disadvantage of using a heavy weapon if you are Small, additionaly while not wearing armor and wielding a two-handed weapon, your AC equals 10 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier.
- Dance of Battle
Beginning at 3rd level, you can use your agile footwork to move with grace through the battlefield. You can start a dance of battle as a bonus action, gaining the following benefits:
- Blade Barrier. You can make opportunity attacks against creatures that move to a place within your weapon's reach.
- Side Step. You can use your bonus action to move or jump up to 15 feet. This movement doesn't count against your maximum movement on this turn, and doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. Doing so ends the Dance of Battle.
- Reaping Charge. When you use your Action Surge while dancing, you gain the benefits of the Dash action, and can use your bonus action to make a single melee weapon attack, until the end of your turn.
The dance of battle ends if you take damage, if you can no longer move, or if you haven't made an attack with your weapon since your last turn.
- Art of Battle
Beginning at 7th level, you can add your Dexterity modifier to any Charisma (Performance) checks you make while wielding a two-handed melee weapon.
In addition, you gain proficiency with Dexterity saving throws.
- Great Parry
At 10th level, while dancing, you can make an agile parry with a two-handed weapon you are wielding. When you are targeted by an attack while you are in your dance of battle, you can use your reaction to parry that attack, taking no damage. Doing so ends your dance.
Once you do so, you can't do it again until you finish a long rest. You regain the use of this feature when you use your Second Wind.
- Broken Rhythm
At 15th level, whenever your Dance of Battle ends, you can make one attack against a creature within 5 feet of you, without using an action or reaction.
After using this attack successfully a number of times equal to your Dexterity modifier (a minimum of once), you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
- Sweeping Strikes
Once you reach 18th level, while you are wielding a two-handed melee weapon, you can use your action to attack any number of creatures in a 15-foot cone in front of you or in a 10-foot radius around you.
You must make a separate attack for each target.
