Gods[edit]

Gods are things of myth and folktales. The useless imaginings of mortal men and women, with not enough to do, and too much suffering to care. In most cases the gods are so much hot air, and they only bring ruin to civilizations. And then there are some... The monsters that rule over us all... beasts who hide under the guise of gods, wary only of each other. These beasts are as much gods as the two from legend. Beings who care not for the little people that walk beneath their feet. But what then is a God who cares not for it's worshippers? Is it truly a god? No, it is a BEAST. Uncaring, that is, at least until someone gets bold enough to go for a hunt.

The Serpent Who Burns, Kora[edit]

The Goddess Kora, the original creator of the world and the cause of all our mortal troubles. She is the most powerful of the gods, aside from the Goddess Ava. It is said that her blood rushes through the planet's veins, creating the ley lines that provide the world it's magic. It is also said that she is the source of the sun itself, the light that brings life, and the heat that grants death. She is known to be a terrifying serpent with blackened bone scales, harder than adamant, adorning her body, and molten magma flowing through her veins, her touch as hot as the sun itself. She is a caring goddess with an explosive, wild temper; A goddess not to be crossed.

It was after the Goddess Ava and her clashed that the world was reduced to the state that it is in. Forests and Mountains, all reduced to ash and sand, all swept away in the winds of time. And it is the blood of these gods, and the ocean itself that gave birth to the newest of the immortals, the Avrasii. Creatures oh so beautiful to look at, until you see them in their true, more terrifying light.

The Cat Who Hungers, Ava[edit]

The second of the gods of Oredell, Ava, is a mad goddess from outside our very fabric of existence; a creature brought in from the void itself. She is a goddess of the mind who has fallen to insanity. No laws may hold her, no rules contain her. Even the laws of our world bend in her presence. It is for this reason that the Goddess Kora sealed her away, in a massive stone jar, binding her with the only item she cared for, a red collar. When mortal men accidentally freed her they ruined our world. Ava consumed the minds of many a man, and then once her strength was back she drained the oceans of all life. All of the world's oceans are now a graveyard for the fish and other aquatic species. It all happened so quickly that when the Goddess Kora finally awoke, it was too late. The deed had been done, but she could still prevent her creation being marred any further, and so she hunted Ava. And while the Cat had the upper hand, the Serpent had not lost her wits, and both ended up severely wounded, their blood flowing together into the seas to create the Avrasii. This was the moment the world was changed for the worst, as soon, no man could resist the spirits of the sea, and survive...
