Goblins of the Desert of Gaal are, in the practical sense of the word, nomadic. They are surprisingly stable, despite many years at war with the Kingdom of Karlond.
Play a Goblin if you want...
- To be from a race of wanderers.
- To be skilled in the art of war.
- To be a member of a race that favors the Fighter, Warlord, and Battlemind classes.
Physical Qualities[edit]
These particular goblins are not always green. Due to the desert environment, some are red. These goblins also have scaly skin and even horns and spines. They are sometimes called lizard goblins. Most notable is that above the usual pug-nosed goblin face is two pairs of black, shiny eyes instead of just one.
Goblin Communities[edit]
These desert goblins of Gaal are tribal. They are organized into clans, each one led by an Elder. This title of elder is purely titular, as there can be elders as young as 7 years of age. Each and every goblin sees the elders as the wisest of not only the tribe, but of the entire race. This means that any goblins which are not part of a tribe usually give great respect to any leader-figure of other "clans".
Roleplaying a Goblin[edit]
These goblins are comparable to humans in personality. They are still somewhat savage as goblinoids, but they worship Maglubiyet to a lesser extent. For much of their harsh life in the desert, they are often forced to rely on one another, and so have shed some of the backstabbing nature normal to goblins.
Goblin Characteristics: Strong, Trustworthy, Tough, Courageous
Male Names: Shoko-Ze, Kain, Geru, Nezekya, Meekono
Female Names: Hinata, Sevraah, Herranah, Feyah, Nerreah
Goblin Adventurers[edit]
Three examples of goblin adventurers are listed below:
Yeemik is a goblin fighter who has left his clan in a search for water. The desert used to yield oases but those have now dried up. He is the last of his expedition team and nearing the end of his rope until he falls afoul of a tlincalli nest, where he was rescued by a group of adventurers who he now calls his allies.
Freya is a goblin battlemind who loves to play tricks on the caravans who pass by her clan. She has heard many tales from them of life beyond the desert. She catches a lucky break when she is recruited to a group of adventurers who are able to tolerate her charlatan ways and they set off for the world beyond the dunes.
Jarou is a goblin warlord that was declared elder when he was very young. However, overwhelmed by responsibility, he ran away. Hearing of the plights on his old clan, he is wracked with guilt and seeks to better himself before returning to be a proper leader to his people.
