Giant Squirrel (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Giant Squirrel[edit]
Physical Description[edit]
Giant Red Squirrel |
Giant squirrels come in a variety of subraces depending on where they’re from. They are about as tall as human when on all fours and can be twice that when standing completely upright. They look like a normal squirrel with the only notable difference being their size.
History[edit]
Not much is known about the giant squirrel’s history. They can be found in many places and many different types, but are also very illusive and you won’t normally see one unless you’re looking for it. This also has to due with the fact that their aren’t many of them around anymore. Surviving with their size and diet is extremely hard, which causes there to be a low population. To combat this some groups have started to evolve their diet and began to eat meat.
Society[edit]
Giant squirrels usually live in small groups of 2-5. Sometimes they form large packs, but that is usually only if there is an extreme threat around, in which case they hope to have more safety in numbers.
Overview[edit]
Giant squirrels are an active race. They love playing and jumping through trees. They also have amazing memory and because of this can hold onto grudges for a long time, though they also always remember favors they owed or that others owe them. They are extremely loyal. Because of the fact that it’s hard for them to survive, as stated in the history, they are extremely protective and secretive about where they get their food from. If something threatens it, be that disease, other animals, weather, etc., they will do whatever they can to keep it safe. Only people in the group are allowed to know where it is, and the locations is passed down from generation to generation. And although it may not seem like it, they are very sophisticated and frequently, a couple of them will travel to towns to get supplies and other things they cannot make themselves. Giant squirrels get along well with other forest dwellers(as long as they aren't a threat to their food source).
Giant Squirrel’s Names[edit]
Giant squirrels are usually names after physical traits like their size, color, markings, etc., though occasionally they can have more unique names which usually depend on what area they live in and what other races may be around.
