Physical Description[edit]
The Giant Intelligent mantis is a large creature with a keen intellect and ability to learn very quickly. Standing taller than most other races it has better physical abilities in addition to its superb intellect.
History[edit]
Long ago this race developed hyperintelligence and started becoming super-social and even began creating a capitol city for its people deep in a massive forest. The race of mantis eventually even created its own written language to compliment it's spoken language and even started learning technology from other races and incorporating it into their own society.
Society[edit]
Mantis are highly intelligent and agile creatures. Utilizing their intelligence they have come up with a societal structure resembling that of a republic, in which Females are typically the leaders because of their mating rituals in which they are the dominant one whom ends the mating by eating the male's head.
Also, the race speaks in a wierd way, almost always ending their sentences with an uplifted Yes? or No?.
G.I. Mantis Names[edit]
Some mantis adopt simple names others complex, examples follow.
Male: Varzixx, Tankris, Narkis, Praxis, John, Billy, Kin, etc.
Female: Taliss, Nadiss, Mary, Kim, Sally, etc.
G.I. Mantis Traits[edit]
Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1. As normal you cant get a score above 20 with this feature.
Age. Giant Intelligent Mantis typically mature around 30 years, and live up to 1000 years depending on how good their diet is, and if they are male or female and attempt to reproduce.
Alignment. They can be any alignment, however most tend more lawful.
Size. These Mantis vary from 8ft tall to 10 ft tall. You are considered Large.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Your base climbing speed is 30ft.
Darkvision. With your enhanced darkvision you can see in pitch black darkness as if it were bright light up to 60 ft and dim light an additional 60 ft beyond that. You see dim light in shades of grey.
Limited Flight Capability, Or Gliding. As a Mantis you have wings, but only limited flight. You can use your wings when you jump to increase jump height by up to 40ft and can also use your wings to glide down from high places, as a result Mantis do not take fall damage.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Mantis, and 2 other languages of your choice.
